Jasper 3 tier keyboard stand
This is my review for the Jasper 3 tier keyboard stand. Yeah this thing is killer. I got it to go with my Roland Fantom-08 and a few other synths and I couldn't be happier. I was gonna go with the one from On Stage Stands but after reading negative reviews on it I decided to go with Jaspers. This stand is super sturdy. It's got these extra locks on the ends of the bars that give it more support and that what sold me on it. Also it's aluminum instead of plastic. I just ordered extra pieces for it which I don't think on stage has... Definitely recommend this stand
Happy
There is not much space for error when it comes to heavy keyboards.
Be very carefull to check the stability. The tightning screws need to be very tight to get heavy keyboards stable. Overall A heppy customer. I love the looks of these..
Needs a Little Extra Bracing
Whilst this is a very well built and sturdy stand, It would need to have extra transverse bracing to get a better rating. When fully loaded with my three keyboards there was a noticable side to side wobble when playing.
Fortunately, for me, my old keyboard stand (which is too narrow to take my new Korg) uses exactly the same size aluminium tube, so I just transferred the cross bracing from this to the Jasper; problem solved.
Take note Jasper, you need to improve these stands.
Good keyboard stand for lighter keyboards.
Decent keyboard stand, will hold 3 keyboards at the same time.
The material it is made of is relatively lightweight, so moving the unit (when there is no keyboards on it) is easy. However, because of the material being so light, it can take some experimentation to set up the stand in a stable way.
Also, the bottom keyboard tier (closest to the floor) has the most support, and will hold a very heavy keyboard with no problems. The other two tiers however have only 1 support bar, and placing a heavier instrument on these may be risky.
Not a good stand for live gigs, as it can take up a lot of space and is time consuming to assemble. Useful for a practise environment or home studio, but only when used with lighter instruments.
Upstanding citizen!
I don't know how I managed without one of these for so long. Sturdy, versatile and very good value for money. I only wish the little arms were cheaper because I want to buy 4 more of them! My stand sits around a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano, and still gives me 3 tiers of synths above it, so that is how big it is.
