Joyo JGE-01 Infinite Sustainer
Effect Device for Electric Guitar

Value for money is decent
The Joyo JGE-01 Infinite Sustainer is a pretty cool addition to my guitar setup. It does a decent job at creating endless sustain by making the strings vibrate with a magnetic field. I like it, but itâs not amazingâit needs to be super close to the strings to work properly, which can be a bit tricky. Learning to control it is also a bit of a learning curve. Despite that, itâs a fun tool to have for experimenting with different sounds and adding some unique effects to my playing.
The best alternative to Ebow
In my opinion, this is a must tool for any creative musician. Put some reverb and delay and you got a lovely pad, very versatile depending on where you use it
Great alternative.
Had an EBow many years ago and for some reason never found it as easy to use as this unit. Works well and great price.
A Great E-Bow Alternative
I wanted to try this on bass, but wasn't sure if I would like it as much as I thought, so I got this cheaper version of the popular E-Bow.
It does work quite well, though if you use it on bass like me, you may want to consider the following:
This product, just like the original E-Bow, is better suited for guitars. The grooves on the device are meant to fit around the 6 thin strings of a guitar and not so much on the 4 thick strings of a bass. It takes some extra practice to position the device correctly and actually get it to work, but that doesn't make this product bad, on the contrary.
My only complaint is that the magnetic field is not as strong as the E-Bow's, so the strings won't start vibrating as easily.
But for the price, it's a really good alternative. Though I will probably buy the original E-Bow in the future because of its better performance.
If you play guitar however, your strings are lighter and easier to vibrate, so you probably won't have this issue and this is even a better option for you.
Joyo JGE-01 Infinite Sustainer
Does excellent its job. No need for its more pricy counterpart.
Very robust and has magical capabilities
Works with bass too
Before I bought it I didn't understand it from other reviews if it is works for bass guitar. Now I can tell you it works, but the distance between bass strings is a bit bigger than with guitar and you should use bow leaning only on one string and in the air on the other side. It need a lot of practice to be able to play clean.
Both in case of guitar or bass you need to practice to be able to obtain in short time the sound and keep it clean without interference from other strings, unwanted sounds made by touching bow on adjacent strings.
When you get it is very fun.
I've owned original eBow couple years ago, and wanted to start using this tool again without hurting my budget. It does exactly the same as eBow, but on half the price.
At first I was concerned about the shape, but in the end it fits nicely in the hand.
Somehow I remember, that eBow had better quality plastic, so it slid better on the strings, however, my memories might be wrong, since it's been years since I held eBow in my hands.
Overall - great product for a good price
Best competitor for the Ebow & great price!
I ordered this for my best friend for his 30th birthday. He recently got into Peter Frampton, I've been a long term fan of Brian Ebo and I really wanted something that would allow us to have nice little ambient jams.
This product performs exactly as detailed, though the harmonic mode can sometimes take a little bit of encouragement to really scream.
Returning to buy a guitar with sustainer system
I realize there are many ambient guitar players that swear by the ebow or this yoyo system, i do not like it. We are not all like chords of orion on youtube, and i can not get used to this, I think its very lump while playing, and there’s no actual feeling that you are playing with anything, beside having a huge device that vibrates the strings if you are lucky …. but if you are just use this during recording sessions, no listener will hear much difference between this or a guitar with a fernanders sustainer or sustainiac system. Then this is a much cheaper option …
But after trying the ebow i opted for the fernandes system, and i now own two guitars, a classic 1980’s fernandes guitar with the sustainiac and a 2021 fender ed o brien stratocaster. I keep The ed o brien at its factory settings while i tweak with its older nephew (yes, you can tweak the sustainer print boards with a screwdriver) and with some fx and imagination you get to uncharted territories and happy lil accidents, just do not forget to press that record button once the jam starts
