Great pedal for the money

Having had the reverb and delay joyo pedals and liking what I heard, I tried this distortion pedal and am not disappointed. It's my go to pedal for punk, metal, hard rock and even blues (with the right settings). Very underrated pedal in my opinion.

Plenty of variety in sounds

Good preamp pedal with a lot to work with. Using a boost in front of this pedal will give you very heavy chugs :D

Excellent

This is a very good distortion pedal. You can use it for classic rock ,blues ,hard rock and metal. Very flexible. The light is very good feature specially for night sections. Quality of the pedal almost perfect and the price very good too. No need for more expensive stuff .

A no-brainer

I bought this thing out of pure curiosity for 39€, and couldn´t be more surprised, how sick it sounds, and also versatile it is. If i should pick a rant, probably, those tiny eq sliders. Would like having them full size, but that is a minor issue. If you like it heavy, go for it.

Joyo R-03 Uzi Distortion

Very interesting distortion pedal. Lots of offered options made my single coil strat and solid state amp sound like guitar with humbucker and marshall tube amp. Distortion saturates signal but you can clearly hear every played tone and every string that you pick. Sturdy metal housing, quality build. Nice touch is LED light around housing (if you don't like it you can turn it off). Stacks well with other OD pedals. Great sustain. Only downside is that volume and gain knobs are not responsive as they should be meaning you turn knobs but nothing happens with the tone.. This can bother and frustrate during "tone seeking" .

Perfect Budget Pedal

Affordable and versatile distortion. Bias Control really helps tone shaping. Plus the light up feature looks cool.

Good hard distortion

Hi i bought this after seeing online reviews, cause it wasn't expensive. ITs a good distortion for hard rock, grunge, 70's 80's Metal, but it want give you newer metal chugg type of sound. Tested it on solid state amp fender Champ 50xl into clean. Maybe on valve amps gets the thing done for newer metal sounds.

When doing leeds it can get a bit fuzzy on its own, but if some reverb or delay is placed afterwards the tone clears out ant it crates nice leads.

All in all its a good budget buy.

One of the best deals

First off all it's a well-built metal box.

Tested on a Tube Marshall DSL 1923 50 watts, on a transistor Marshall (from the 00's) 30 watt, on an amp modeler 75 watt, on the clean channel, reverb from the amp, and a delay pedal after Uzi.

Various guitars of friends and mine. On a super cheap LP type, s Ibanez mid range, s expensive from the 90's, squier from the late 80's, on a super expensive LP Standard,

(expensive and cheap) humbuckers and single coil pickups and I tell you this:

It's way better than I expected.

3 different people with a bit different taste, we all managed to take out of it great sound.

When we put a green box (original and clone) before... it sings. very (very) nice sustain, from a smooth mid range lead, to more trebly and aggressive sound, Good rythm too for metal and other styles, of course with a little tweak on the pedal and the amp. (I like the bias knob around 11 o'clock)

Tested with other pedals too, (I'll review some of them also) before uzi in the chain and it behaves very well.

Chain --- TO800 - UM300 - HB Crunch - JOYO Uzi - EQ - Tc Electronic Delay - amp clean channel.

Value for money? Definitely it's worth way more than it costs.

Rich sound.

You can't go wrong with this pedal.

One of the best deals you can get.

Nice touch the led on the side.

The only con I could say is that it doesn't take battery, but it's fine by me.

In the end, it's all a matter of taste. It sounds good to me and that's all that matters.

Great drive

I will use this as an addition to lighter drives in a cover band. It's not a metal drive. Don't get me wrong, its very capable of modern and classic metal tones, but if you compare this with other ''metal'' drives its way more versatile, you can get a tone similar to boss od-3 as well as get great saturated gain tones. So basically with this drive you cant go wrong. I have not been a fan of older joyo units, but new series is good.

A good pedal

I've owned the BE-OD, which, as far as I know, is the basis for this pedal. The Uzi sounds very similar.

The distortion is harmonically rich, the midrange goes from very scooped to very saturated. The bias knob really helps to dial the tone, I like at to be kept at 3 o'clock.

Totally recommend for those who look for a good distortion pedal.
