K&M 259 Black Reviews
Home/studio microphone stand
Excellent stand, sturdy, does its job well. It is quite small, definitely not for stage use but it suits me good for my home studio. Recording vocals or amps, this is a very nice stand.
Excellent Stand...
Superb stand, no problems with stability, solid, industry standard!
Couldn't be happier using it!
Using the stand on a daily basis, wouldn't trade it for another. It finds its use easily on guitar cabinets, snares, toms, hihats, almost anything besides the voice.
Couldn't be happier using it!
Excellent product
Excellent value for money, this is a stable and reliable mic stand which will last forever in my home studio.
Good quality stand
Perfect size for big cabinets, upright bass, cello, snare drum, upright piano and a lot of other instruments.
Really nice item, I use them in place of taller stands whenever possible to keep the stage uncluttered.
Great stand.
Super sturdy - holds even a heavy tube mic at some crazy angles. Wonderful.
One more great stand from K&M1
I don't have to write many things for K&M stands. Everything is great. Stable, robust, able to fix them it anything is loosen or broken. First choice for microphone stands, speaker stands and various accesories. The first and last choice in stands.
What would you expect?
K&M……'nuff said!
Not a Top End K&M Stand
I have a number of top end mic stands including Beyerdynamic GST500, K&M 21020 and 25950.
I had assumed this K&M 25900 would be of equal quality, however it is actually a bit of an anomaly.
It is quite easy to assume this stand is a small version of the top end 21020 and 21090, but this is not the case. Apart from the boom arm being from the top line range, the lower part definitely is not.
1. The leg tubing is thinner and lighter.
2. The rubber feet are the smaller ones found on the cheap stands.
3. The base is lighter and lower mass.
For this reason I feel I was somewhat mislead as the price matches 21020 and 25950, but it is just not to their standards.
I will probably eventually replace these with K&M 25950 or Beyerdynamic GST590 and sell them on as the low mass and lower quality components are not really "pro" and seem out of place. I am anal like this. Seems this stand is mis-categorised.
Also, anyone wanting this for micing kick drums internally should buy the K&M 25950 instead. This 25900 is too tall for that application.
All in all though, this is still a good stand. It is just let down by having the budget components mixed with the top line components.
Serious quality.
These mic stands are stupidly good.
I bought four around a year ago and they still feel brand new.
They can hold even your heaviest of microphones at a 90º angle without batting an eyelid.
Build quality is fantastic and the stands have a good weight to them. None of the joints loosen over time and have never felt worried about my mics on these stands.
Well worth the extra money over cheaper alternatives as you'll never have to re-buy due to breakage.
K&M Stand
I have several of this stands because they are realy good.
Its very easy to tune the position for the mic.
The stand is lightweight but it is very strong and sturdy.
I use it manly for kick drum or bottom snare Mics.
It is perfectly stable.
Shorter than anticipated
I ordered this for the horn section of my band. The trumpet player is quite short and the ordinary stands are borderline too high in their lowest setting. Off course I could have read the specs on the K&M homepage, but I got fooled by the image. As this stand has the shorter legs the stand looks higher than it actually is.
K&M stands are much better quality than the cheap ones. Well worth the money!
very versatile
I bought this to position a mic over a snare drum and it was very easy to get the right position. This one is well worth it very stable and lots of flexibility.
I will be buying two more of these very soon.
Nice mic stand
I sing and play clarinet and guitar and I've found the K&M 259 to be a great all rounder mic stand. It's good for guitar amps (a little tall but better than others I've used), woodwind and vocals. It's not very heavy but it's the one mic stand I use regularly at home and I always leave one in the rehearsal studio too. Easy to carry too.
