excellent stand!
great stand, it seems I'll be using a lot of these in the future; great bang for a buck
Short boom mics
Good for kick and amp micing
Small Stand
Usable but not the best model.
Very nice stand!
Love this stand! It's worth the money. It's very small so it fits perfectly on my bass drum, which has a small hole at the bottom.
Great for positioning microphone perfectly for/in kicks
This is a great little stand that allows me to place my kick drum microphone perfectly.
What I should have bought in the first place
There's and old adage - buy cheap, buy twice.
This is especially true of mic stands.
I bought this to mic up my little vibro champ amp and as a less intrusive stand for mic'ing up acoustics.
The cheaper stand which this is replacing, really isn't up to the job. I must have saved a tenner at the most buying the cheaper one, which now just takes up space.
This one does the job it's supposed to. It happily holds a large condenser mic in place and makes mic'ing my amp up a lot easier. I haven't tried it on an acoustic yet but I'm sure it's fine - I have other k&m's. It will be ideal for mic'ing kick drums, which is it's main purpose but it's good for guitar amps, acoustic instruments (not as an overhead - it's too small)
It's a mic stand - there's not much to say really - it does the job. And that's all it needs to do. Cheaper stands don't, from my experience. You're not saving much on the cheaper stands - you'll only have to replace them so just get the K&M in the first place.
There are other solid stands out there - we have some in the studios I work at but I never look at the names on things like that.
Just get the K&M because you know it will do the job.
The best in its class
I use it for every gig and every studio session.
Super sturdy, super quality for the price you pay. It holds it's place like a champ, never failed me yet.
If there's just one thing I would change it would be it's weight, sometimes it gets a little bit out of balance if the mic is on the heavy side, but generally no problem at all.
Would definitely buy again!
Short Kickdrum boom
Nice and sturdy. Really short so easy to transport. Very lightweight. Stays in place with a kickdrum mic installed.
the stand for the kick drum mic !
I use it for micing a kick drum, but you could also use it for micing guitar amp etc. As with any other K&M stand , this is a top quality stand, it is small enough so you can carry it in bag with your drum hardware and on stage you can place nicely so that it doesn't get in the way of other band members. Reccomended!
Great value
Well built mic stands. Can't go wrong with these!
K&M are simply the best
The best stands you can get are made by K&M I am in a working band and all of ours stands are K&M All 25 of them
wonderfyl goods
it's fatastic stand!

Good for micing kick drums
I use one of these in my studio to mic kick drums inside and out with a Sennheiser e902 or a Shure sm7b, both of which are fairly hefty chunks of metal. The boom arm doesn't dip at all once it's been tightened, even when fully extended.
Mic positioning is straightforward and flexible, the boom arm lets you place the mic wherever you like. The tripod legs don't take up that much space either.
I can't really fault this mic stand. It's designed to do one job (hold and position a mic on a low-profile source) and, as far as I can tell, it does that job flawlessly.
Love this little stand
I use this little stand as much as I can because its one of my sturdier mic stands!
It's stood up to rigorous use and the mic isn't going to move unlike some mic stands.
Worth the extra money over the cheaper models.
Classic K&M quality
Very useful for gutar amp or kick drum.
Robust and practical
I have bought this stand to be used for drum and guitar recordings.
Right now, I am using it for snare micing (below), bass drum micing (inside and outside) and also guitar and bass cabinets.
In all of these applications, the stand is doing a great job. I don't think I am ever going to buy a different one for these applications.
Overall, the stand is sturdy and robust. All the screws, pivots and joints are well built and will last a long time if handled properly.
The only thing where I thought it was lacking was when micing the inside of a bass drum. If you have a deep bass drum or if you need to get really deep in with the mic (just behind the batter head) you might get problems with mics that are heavy. In these situations, it is difficult to keep the stand ffrom toppling over. You will need to tighten the base screw really fast to stop the boom arm flom gliding down slowly.
Other than that, it is a great stand and I would definitely buy it again. It's so much more robust than any of the cheap models and it's still reasonable in price.
Sturdy
Had plenty of microphone stands in the past but this has to be one of the more sturdy ones I've used. All the joints and pivots hold well and have lasted longer than any of the millenium stands I have bought as a cheaper option. Well worth the small amount of extra cash.
I really like the K&M stands in general and this is no exception. Does its job very well and it feels stable and like its going to last for many years. Really good for micking up cabs and kickdrums.
great stand
Heavy, steady, solid and really comfortable
Exactly what you need for bass drum and small amps (for which an ordinary stand is too high to make the mic reach the right spots on the speaker).
K&H never decieve!
Amazing!
These are the ONLY mic stands worth buying in my opinion. When you have musicians adjusting stands without supervision they get broken, cheap stands will fall to bits in days, but these will last and last and last! If used properly I doubt they will ever need replaced! Tough, Sturdy, Well built and a great size, easy to adjust, and they don't droop down constantly like cheaper stands!
