I won't tease you — the detail missing is a tuner. I was kind of blinded by the massive amount of features and forgot to check if the amp had a built-in tuner, but oh well — it is what it is. It sounds very good for home practice, band rehearsal, and even a live gig. The flexibility with the speaker out is just insane. In my opinion, its sound is not very convincingly "natural" but it can definitely get close when paired with a good guitar cab and thrown into a band mix. And yes, it can cut its path in a band mix. However, you do need to adjust settings between those scenarios and this is where the Katana falls flat a bit. You only get to save a few presets. And, when you are in a specific preset, you can't know where exactly your EQ pots are dialed in, so rotating...

I bought this amp for a few reasons: 1- Duel Voltage (100-220) this is great if you live in the Americas /Japan and moving or traveling to Europe or visa versa. This was a major reason for me as I’m scheduled to move the the U.S. in a year or so. 2- This amp is multi wattage (2/20/200 selectable) so no matter what size room I’m playing in a have a wattage to match and get a great sound... Speaking of... 3- This amp sounds great! Like clean? You got it! Light break-up on a clean channel? Yep speak of if you a little gain to the clean it sounds AMAZING and warm - and very responsive- best I’ve heard. Crunch and Lead is where I spend most of my time and well? What can I say, I really like what I can do and the sounds I can get with these channels. The Ultra channel has a...

Ok i got mine a week ago! This is thing is the future.. The possibilities are endless. First and most importantly the sounds are the same as the real thing and i could dare to say that sometimes they are even better than the original tube amps because there is possibillity to further adjust the profile. Another thing i noticed is that a lot of tube amps have a weird response in the low mid frequency range.. Especially when trying to heavy palm mute with high gain amps, many times you get the humming that is not good for anybody. With kemper you dont get that or if u do you can surely adjust it somehow.. Instead what you get with kemper is a flat response throughout the guitar scale, from the very low to the very high notes. And to top all that you can get thousands of rigs for free...

I got my Kemper in mid-October, just under 3 months ago. The build and user interface are excellent, everything you need to do is intuitive once you learn a few basic ideas and functions. The manuals seem a bit thin but when you get your hands on the various modes they are completely adequate. In particular the profiling process is pain-free and very straightforward. The machine comes with about 400 profiles but I have to say most of them are not my cup of tea. Something I have noticed with third party profiles is that many are specific to other players' taste and too many have very heavy effects laid on top. But fear not, if you have an amp that you love you will capture it in the Kemper - probably several times for different settings - with no problem. I have a dozen profiles from a...
