Fantastic

These are the best monitors I've tried for this money.

Perfect for mixing and mastering

I mix and master fingerstyle guitar music and for that, these work perfectly and the overall sound is very accurate too when switching between headphones and these monitors, they sound very similar.

Would highly recommend!

Good speakers for the beginning producer

I bought two of these one year ago and these are very good entry-level speakers.

The sound is very neutral and can go quite loud. High and mid range are crystal clear. It also shuts itself down after a while if it does not receive an input signal, but pops right back on when it does. Good for energy savings.

I was able to compare them to the RP8s and noticed that the depth of bass was lacking in these speakers. The 45Hz cutoff seemed like a minor something when reading up on human hearing, but the difference is there. This is unfortunate as I notice myself turning to my headphones to listen if the bass comes on well. I will probably have to buy a subwoofer to compensate for this. But, given the price I paid for these speakers, this is only a minor detail.

Be careful if you buy these in a bundle with stand-alone supports. The speakers are heavy (though sturdy) and any clumsy friends or family members could knock them right to the ground. Also, make sure you power them on and off properly to avoid crackles which can damage the speakers.

One big disadvantage, the power cables are very short, so it is not in your best interest to have you sockets far off.

Got this for a home studio and couldn't had choose better. Very crips, no EQ, delivers the exact state of the record as it is, making it possible to correct EQ problems and tweek everything in need. Would buy again.

Recommend it!

The RP5s deliver plenty of punch and great clarity, I also like their tight, warm bass response. They look good as well, and are completely silent when in standby. For so small a monitor, they still play loud and clear. Adding a subwoofer gives them a lot of more punch but I don't personally see a need for that. A great active speaker.

Great thing for beginners

I'm really satisfied with these monitors. They give clear sound from high to low frequency. Also I'm really impresed on how much bass frequency these small and compact speakers can produce. By my opinion excelent choice for all beginners and also for more experienced users which work with electro/house genre. Price very afordable so all in all best buy option!

I use these KRK in my home studio

The only disadvantage - sleeping mode, sometimes it's hard to get back to work without any delay.

KRK RP5 RoKit G3( Great for the Price)

I was amazed after listening to these monitors! I would recommend getting monitor isolation pads such as the ones by Auralex. They really help reduce the bass buildup that occur when the monitors are placed directly on your table/desk. And if you still have some extra bass frequencies, just turn the bass frequency knob down one or two. I have my monitors in my bedroom studio, and they still shook the house at the -6db setting! The best part is how it doesn't distort the sound when the volume increases like others do! I was amazed at the clarity with these monitors. So if you are recording in a small to medium room, these monitors should still get the job done!

Best for beginners

It sounds good, has a reasonable price and good build quality.

Pros:

- Sounds good and clear

- Supports RCA, XLR and TRS

- Solid but good design and build quality

- Reasonable price

- Adjustable volume, low and high knobs on the back

Cons:

- On/Off button is on the back

- It does not cover the very low frequencies

In short: it's perfect for beginners.

standard

Pretty basic and good sounding monitors. Sound great after setting it up properly and placing the in the right place in the room. The sound is reach and full. Some people say that it lacks low end at some very low frequencies, but i think it depends on music style you're making, cos in indie rock a don't hear anything missing.

it's kind of stupid, because you can get this information carefully reading the specs, but i was a bit amused about it's weight. And also there is no cable for connecting you audiointerface or what do you use, so be careful don't forget about it as well.

Perfect for Home Mixing and Monitoring

Overall:

To start of with my room has weird angles but i placed the monitors so the back of them were facing straight wall. So initially i wasn't expecting a great sound to come out from them. (This is also without any room insulation.) However despite all those flaws in my room, the sound was amazing to say the least, it was clear, perfect bass response and every frequency was clear.

Features:

I was indecisive between the M-Audio BX8 D2 and these KRK's. The reason i liked the M-Audio was due to its 8'' woofer and i like my bass nice and loud. However the downside of those monitors were the lack of features. I knew the sound i got was the sound i got and couldn't alter it. THEN i looked at the KRK, had all the features i wanted however it had a 5'' woofer. After much reading i chose these and i was NOT disappointed. Cant believe how such a little woofer can create so much bass. And with the added pads under the KRK they sounded 10x better. (t.akustik Iso-Pad 5)

Use:

I use them for all my work. However these are for close monitoring, so they may be insanely loud for their size but you can't expect to have a party with these. On occasion i play some music in them and jam with my kit and the monitors are still manage to overcome the loudness from the drum kit. But my main use is for my electronic/chilled rock in Logic and Pro Tools, and for that its a beauty.

Pro's:

- Amazing sound quality, very sound

- Very well built

- Great features

- Interior padding

- Great Bass coming from 5'' woofer

- AMAZING Price

Cons:

- Cant find any so far and I've had them for a few months

Told my friend to buys these as well and he too was not disappointed. Loved them.

Decent for the price

Although I don't have much experience with many different monitors, I think these are quite alright. They sound fairly flat to me, not to shrill, not bassy. Well, they aren't really capable of reproducing substantial bass, nor are they meant to. What bothers me about these monitors is the amount of hiss they produce. While it may be my fault (grounding, or lots of wires or whatever) I don't think it is, since I did everything I could to eliminate things that could produce noise and it is still there. It is not terrible, but certainly noticeable. Other than that I like everything about Rokits. The design, the feel of the knobs, the sound. A solid lower-budget option I would say.

Fantastic

After waiting for a couple of days they finally arrived. Two "heavy" weight champions how I called them. Fully functional and kicking hard without mercy. They deliver really smooth and clean sound with small dose of heaviness (of course it depends of what kind of music you are in too but more or less the sound is great) . There are those who complain that it has a small note of hardness in sound more then it should have in comparison with JBL monitors, honestly I don't feel it not yet. Overall I am completely satisfied with my pairs of KRK RP5.
