I've been using Ernie Ball strings for as long as I can remember. When I bought the Steinberger 6 string electric guitar I was limited to the double ball end strings of which there is not much choice. I have been pleasantly surprised by the S946 strings. Good even volume, durable, stay in tune, bright sound. Very good. I was going to buy the string conversion to be able to use any brand of string but I don't need to. Happy with these strings. Clean then after every play and they'll last a lot longer! (I'm using dAndrea String Cleaner at the moment.)

These only have advantages. They sound the best (They have a bright and direct tone), they are the cheapest double ball strings, they last long. Never ever head one break on me in years of playing headless guitars. They fit very easily, as where things become very tight with other brand strings, it seems these are just a tad longer.... Even if I have string adapters to use on a headless guitar, I always come back to using these strings... The biggest advantage maybe is, that you can re-use them easily. You don't need to throw them away after you've removed them from your guitar (for fretboard cleaning, for pickup swapping...). Just store them safely and you can re-use them (no curled ends like normal strings wich have been used)

In all the years I have been using La Bella on my Hohner, I have never broken a string despite heavy bending and being a bit bad with changing strings (longest I had a set on was 2 years!). After an initial tune in / play stage they keep their tuning exceptionally well. Sound is not as crisp as some other brands I have tried, but it is still quite good (best way to describe them is they lack a bit of high frequency ring). Only other complaint would be they are a bit too expensive for what they are.

I bought a Spirit by Steinberger GT Pro and thought I'd may as well buy an extra set of strings at the same time. The GT Pro came supplied with a ser of .010's and I've always used .009's. String gauge changes on regular tremolo guitars are a real pain, to say the least! With the GT Pro I'd changed the whole set, adjusted the tremolo tension and stretched the strings ready to play within 5 minutes. Great strings, good tone and long life (I'm normally quite heavy handed and go through strings quickly, but these last a but longer than my regular branded strings on my other guitars!). Well worth getting these than buying a string adapter and using "regular" strings!
