I 've got one of these as a gift couple of years ago and immediately fell in love with it. After a while wanted to upgrade to 300$ one because of electronics and just my own curiosity. Got the expensive one and returned it, ordered back another YAMAHA and saved 250¤. There's absolutely nothing bad about this great little instrument, and if you need to plug it in, get a external clip on pickup for 10¤. i will probably get few more to live them at my folks, car, beach house etc...

The first reaction when I received this guitarlele was sheer admiration for its loveliness. It's made of solid mahogany and it is absolutely beautiful, a work of art. However, for me, the two most important things about any instrument are sound and playability and the Ortega scored full marks on both. I already had a Yamaha guitarlele (as well as two acoustic guitars). The sound of the Ortega was in a different league from that of the Yamaha - as you would expect because of the huge price difference. The Ortega is a pleasure to play because of its sound. It has a depth I have not heard on an instrument this size before. It's also very playable. And then there is the pickup - it's marvellous. I play in a band and can use the guitarlele. The sound seems huge. Who would believe it was...

I bought this for my 2-year old son to introduce him to instruments. But in fact I have been playing the GL1 as much as he have done. It feels very solid, good sound, good quality and stays really good in tune. As my son now is 3,5, years old the guitar have gone through a lot over the past two years, but it still is really great except from a couple of dings. But it still sounds really nice. I have been using it as a travel guitar, "jam-in-the-sofa guitar and so on. really great product with good quality and sound with a lot of different areas of use.

Great travel guitar with deep and lovely sound that you do not expect from the instrument of her size! Good quality/price ratio. At first i thought it will be impossible to take chords with my wurst-like fingers but surprisingly i got used to it very fast. Before buying you need to take into account that her standard tune is 2.5 tone higher than 6-string guitar' tune. (A-D-G-C-E-A versus E-A-D-G-B-E). Just put capo on the 5th fret of your 6-string guitar and you will get close to what Guitalele is. Anyway she is really lovely and the most compact guitar I ever had. Definitely worth the asking money.

Bought this for work (kindergarden) thinking it was fun to play and it looked neat, but this little sucker plays very well and is very durable. Chose this one because the fretboard was wider than the others, considering my massive hands. Very welcome at parties. It has taken a couple of hits and it still tunes up and plays at it should. Feels sturdy, and the sound is great. Should mention that tuning it feels weird at first, but its a scaled down guitar. Fine tuning it will require this smallest of turns.

Pros: - Very nice tone - Holds tuning fairly well - Very lightweight but still sturdy enough to withstand being left in a toybox - Very light action so suitable for small fingers - Despite its short scale-length, it tunes to E-standard, so once your child starts to play properly. they're in the same key as you - At this price, if your child loses interest, you've not spent a lot of money Cons: - The tone is very nice, so you'll be tempted to try and play it yourself, but big-man-hands won't fit very comfortably (if at all) - Intonation isn't perfect (but if you need this to be perfect, you should probably spend a bit more not not expect wonders from a child's instrument) This guitar is more than a toy, but is priced like one so if your wee-one is remotely interested (or you want to...

I bought it because my 2 years old son like to come on my guitar. When i saw this little guitar, he directly understand it was for him and began to handle it. He was first playing some drums on it but he began to strum the strings as he saw me playing. As an instrument, the sound of this guitar is poor and it doesn't stay in tune after (only) 2 chords. But to be honnest, i didn't buy for it's sound quality but i have buy as father for an smile on my son's face. And when i play some guitar, he want's to play with me with his one. Conclusion: - As an musician, this guitar is more a toy than an instrument - As a father, it's 5/5 stars
