Not a triangle !

This is a shaker, it cant ring out like a triangle, you can make rhythms galore but nothing like a ringing out long sound, fun to use easy to shake, get your dance moves on ,but not a triangle :-)

Works ok

Sound is a bit harsh, but effective in an ensemble. There are minor mechanical noises making solo playing a bit unwanted. Damped it is nice and effective too.

Brilliant invention!

Wow! This innovative instrument allows one percussionist to perform the function of two! Anything that can be done on a regular triangle with two hands, can be done with only one hand on this one. However, be prepared to spend some time learning how to play the instrument, as the technique is quite different from a traditional triangle. I.e. the position and the movement is more like that of a shaker.

I am using this instrument for Brazilian styles (samba, forró, baião etc.) in which there would traditionally be on musician dedicated just to playing the triangle. To be able to play the surdo/zabumba rhythm simultaneously, I have mounted a hand surdo (rebolo) on a drum rack (together with some other percussion instruments). Floor tom legs would also do the job. Also, I have used the triangle together with a cajon which is an excellent combination. It sounds great and requires no special setup.

Amazing triangle for drummers

It's simple to use, light and very effective

Sounds really nice, you can make different patterns and different sons just adjusting the fingers.

Handy but not reliable

The idea of this product is great! It really fulfills a strong need for musicians.

The bad side is that the finish isn't sturdy as it should, bearing in mind it is a percussion instrument. And we all know that percussion instruments keep insisting on falling, right? :P

The red plastic that covers the metal looks and feels fragile. One should provide a good gig-bag/case for it, since the manufacturer sells it inside a plastic bag.

Otherwise, it is fun and very handy to have one like this. If you are a carefull person, you'll be able to have it for a long time.

Great idea but bad quality

Unfortunately the quality of this product is not the best, the wire that holds the triangle inside the cage brakes very easily and the cage itself too, I tried to fix it but it didn't hold, is a pitti because it is a great idea.

Finally!

This great little product is a must for all busy percussionists who so often will find themselves having to move a large stand with a tiny triangle around the stage. It gives a clear sound and an easy roll and can be left on your effects table taking up no room what so ever or even put in your pocket if you have to dash across to the other side of the stage to play timps and triangle!
