I've owned these congas for over 9 years and they're still sounding (and looking) as good as they did the day I received them. They produce a nice range of clean sounds and you can get a reasonable amount of volume out of them, I've accompanied several DJs on 0.5k PAs without amplification on the congas and have never been (totally) drowned out. The stands are a bit of a pain to set up and tear down, but I can't think of a better way to support the congas without adding a big old wedge to the price. On the plus side, the stands don't leave any marks at all on the drums. All in all, a nice piece of kit.

I have had this congas now for a few years and they continue to play with the same quality sound as when I first got them as I am careful to de-tune them when not in use. The supplied stands are of a good quality and were easy to put together. The packaging they came in was very good, and made sure they arrived in pristine condition. These congas have been taken around the UK on numerous latin dance weekends, and they compare favourably against other more expensive congas for sound quality, and have traveled well without incurring damage. As you would expect they are bulky so I would suggest you by them with cases. For the price I payed I am very happy with the Millennium congas and went on to get Millennium bongos to match.

These Congas were larger than I expected, good quality, well made and sturdy. They have a pleasant rich tone. The stand is excellent, strong and with height adjustment, it also has a large rubber stay that the instruments rest in on keeping it all stable and vibration free. They will be quite heavy with the stand but I found this an advantage as they won't move around. I also purchased the gig bags for protection, these are excellent value when you consider the cost of the items they are protecting.

As a percussion enthusiast constantly on the lookout for instruments that deliver both quality sound and reliable performance, I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the LP LP647NY-VSB 11"+12" Conga Set, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the moment I laid my hands on these beautifully crafted congas, I knew I was in for a treat. The craftsmanship is impeccable, with attention to detail evident in every curve and finish. Not only do they look stunning, but they also feel incredibly sturdy and well-built, promising durability for years to come. However, it's the sound quality of these congas that truly sets them apart. The tones are rich, warm, and resonant, with a depth and clarity that are simply mesmerizing. Whether playing soft...

really like these congas....as with its "sister bongos"....they are light weight and has a decent tone. love the design and colour of them.....they stand out in gigs...beautiful. only issue I have with these, is, that the skins are quite thin compared to its "sister" bongos....i would have like the skins to be a bit thicker to get warmer tones.....hence the 4 star rating. having said that, warmer tones are probably my personal prefereance. one can always change the skin. Again great value for money and i recommend them.

Before buying these conga we made quite an intensive research. The fact that you couldn't try such instruments made our decision a bit more difficult. But, we do not regret our choice. Our research paid us back cause we're very happy with this set of conga. Portability, sound and finish are their major pluses. I've seen other sets which are quite large and might not be the ideal conga to carry around for frequent gigs. We purchased these together with the Meinl Bongos which made them excellent partners. We tuned the conga (there again after another research) a perfect fourth apart and bongos a third apart. We even tried other cheaper congas which our friends bought, but the extra money we paid for these congas are there - sound, wood finish and portability. I recommend this set.

I purchased this conga set (along with conga bags) in wine red lacquer. My first impression was one of a quality instrument. There are two sizes, a ten inch (quinto) and 12 inch (tumba). The shells are made of wood, well finished inside and nicely lacquered on the outside. The head tension fittings are robust and well made and finished in matt black. The stand fittings (included) consist of a steel ring supported by 3 legs, again in black matt. Each conga sits comfortably in the ring and is protected by rubber pads at the top of the legs. It`s also possible to slightly angle the conga in the ring to make playing access easier. The congas are fitted with animal skin heads rather than the plastic ones I expected and this gives each drum a warm, well rounded sound. They are easy to tune,...

These congas have a fantastic clear tone for their price. Once the stock heads are swapped out for some better ones, the sound becomes perfect for studio work. Nice and dry. The build quality of both the congas and their stands is good overall and moderately sturdy; however 2 flaws are very evident at least for me: -The rubber rings glued to the bottom of the congas for protection will come off very easily, the glue used wasn't that great. I glued them back on using hardware-store wood glue and haven't had another problem since. That's a very minor problem though. -More importantly, the tuning nuts will not stay put and keep their tuning. I'm not sure how they're so unreliable, but after any significant time playing or time left alone, these congas will become detuned. This carries...

Pretty nice set of drums. Set it up and the sound quality is fine. The only problem was that upon opening the boxes the bracket on the bigger sized Conga was bent, whereby I couldn't level it with the base that it's screws on. I'm afraid to hammer it, or use a spanner or vise to level it, for fear of snapping it. Also, the Quinto drum has a dent on the outside of the wood, leaving a nice indentation and scar on the wood base. I easily solved that with wood putty and placed a decal over it to hide the scar. Extra care has to be taken when packed and fragile labels placed on the box due to UPS possibly mishandling the box, especially during the Xmas season. Still, I'm happy with the quality and sound.
LP LPA647-SW 11"+12" Conga Set I

Construction is solid with a clean finish and nice feel. Most of all the sound is rich and warm which was important for me as I wanted to use them in the studio. To enhance the sound I placed them on Auralex floor panels which really improved the clarity and cleaness of the sound. When it came to tuning I used the A string on a bass which resulted in having the skins slightly looser, not too much to be dull but enough to give a nice deep tone when struck. The result is a great recording sound with lots of nice sustained low end resonance, and I reduced the hand slap simply by not having to hit them so hard. Result is a fantastic recording.
