Broken Twice (would never buy again)

I had this device about 6 months, handled great, sound was amazing and perfectly suited my studio setup.

Unfortunately it completely broke down on me and was just red lining dead signal.

I sent it back and had it repaired (took a few months)

it came back in working order and I thought that would be the end of it but it just broke down on me again as I write this review with a great big pop that lmost broke my speakers.

Would never buy again. I'm getting a Behringer :)

Really useful

One teensy little gripe would be that on very low volumes it can sometimes cut out on one speaker or headphone.

I find it useful to listen to mixes on very low volume sometimes and so it can be quite frustrating.

I have other options for that, but, that's not the point... Still, overall it's a very very useful controller with all the right options!

Should have got the Studio + though :-)

Mackie Big Knob

Everything works as it should! Haven't explored all the possibilities yet. Finally I connected 2 pairs of headphones without adapters and headaches.

IT IS VERY GOOD

Very good for studio use, but it gets hot after 2 hours

had it for a few days

So, i've had it for a few days, i use it everyday with my monitors, dont have much to say about them yet, the A channel which i use to my monitors works well... i havent used many of the other features yet, im gonna update it when i have tried with headphones and a microphone...

it does tend to get a bit warm with a long time usage, its still not hot enough for it to burn your fingers but it does get hotter than 40C, overall im quite satisfied with it, it works well for what i need it for as of right now.

Edit: so i've noticed a bit of a problem, at low volume as in turning to big knob down to low volume can cause an unbalance in the audio so the right becomes louder than the left, so i recommend just using the windows audio to turn up and down the volume and leave the big knob as it is.

another edit: this isn't a problem for some, but a feature i'd love to see on the product would be a way to disable the built in mic, as talking in a voice chat the other parties can hear themselves.

Decent monitor controller

Acts a bit strange sometimes, but mainly does what is has to do.

Great product with all the key features

Only thing I don't like about this controller is that it gets extremely (uncomfortably) hot even if you're not using it. So basically if it is powered on after a short while it will get hot for no reason. I don't know if this is normal, but I noticed it and I am a not too happy about that

Mackie big knob

I needed more monitor outputs, so i decided to purchase this unit. now im able to connect this to my apollo twin USB and get to use 3 pairs of monitors without any issues.

the talk back function is good. it does the job. the mic quality isnt great.

preamps on the unit are okay. i dont ever use them much, but for the price you are paying, they are good enough. the conversion isnt the best, but like i said, for what you are paying, it does the job just right.

its hard solid metal and that is perfect. its built like a tank.

for 200 euro its a no brainer!

really happy so far.

Very good but bad

Weird setup for using the ASIO driver.

Stopped producing sound and buttons not functioning anymore all of a sudden after only a few months.

Second time having the same issue after another 9 months.

Seen others on the web having the exact same issue and had it 2 times in the 2 years of owning this device.

Besides that it handles very well with awesome convenient functions.

Sound quality is also great.
