Good quality for such price point of view

I use it for in ear monitor mix and click track for playing drums, it really works well.

Only small drawback I felt so far is that there's no power button.

Perfect for what I needed

I only needed a mixer that could take a minimum of 2 inputs to a single output, and for this purpose only, this is perfect.

I didn't notice any distorsions, only a small buzz at high volumes and no music playing.

Only "con" is that it doesn't have an on/off switch, so you need to unplug it when not using. It gets a bit warm after a few days if left on.

It does the job.

I bought it for a teenage young man. He needs to send the sound from digital piano and computer to studio monitors, that's all. Everything works, no extra stuff is needed. Its simple, with decent metal case, reliable, I can say - quality.

Nice little mixer

The sound is good, can't hear any background noises, build quality is fine too, it has metal body, it's small and light device and it's good for carrying.

Cons: The knobs for me is a bit too tight and uneven in tightness. The headphones output volume depends from main mix volume, those outputs are not totally separated, which I personally don't like.

Overall this is nice little mixer.

Best edition to my home cinema sit up

The Mackie Mix5 has surprised me alot.

I bought this mixer as an addition to my home cinema set-up as I wanted complete control over audio from each of my sources and as well as being able to plug in an mp3 player in to the sound system.

The mixer is extremely compact and is its size was a unique selling point for me.It fits extremely well into my setup. Its very lightweight and yet seems very tough.

One the most disappointing things about this unit is its power supply. it does not come with a uk adaption which means using its two pin adapter, which isn't ideal. also it would be far better if the power supply was an IEC as i fear this power supply would be very hard to source.

also the tape in has no control apart from a send/don't send option. i think by adding control to this parameter this would add to the mixers features.

I am extremely happy with this purchase and have got great use out of it since its arrival. I would recommend this mixer to anyone looking for a compact mixer. I also find it extremely handy for testing mics with its one XLR channel.

Does exactly what it states

Using this as a little keyboard mixer. Like the fact everything is balanced or unbalanced in and out, typically useful Unity settings for all the gains and volumes, and rugged mackie construction. Even the wallwart is sturdy. Just wish it had an on/off switch.....

But for the money, this is great and suits my application perfectly.

Very pleased

The sound quality is at least as good as that of my Allen & Heath ZED14, which this MIX5 has been substituted for. The build quality feels good and solid. Very pleased in all respects/
