Erica Synths Pico System III Desktop
Based on 4 reviews
I love this synth, but its both weird and hard to learn. Modular is a difficult space to explore unless you're willing to learn and understand the details of both additive and subtractive synthesis. No where is this more true than in the constrained environment of the pico system 3. A patch in this synth must be planned ahead else you quickly find yourself running out of patchable resources. Rapid experimentation and iteration on an idea on the patch bay is very rewarding. However the unit shows its best side when paired with an external sequencer (I use an OP-Z, but anything with 5V Gate & V/Oct will work.) The mechanical build quality is outstanding, solid metal all the way around, and generally feels like a weapon in your hands. However electrically... its built like a eurorack...
Erica Synths Fusion System II (with Lid)
Based on 1 reviews
Erica Synths have outdone themselves with the second iteration of their drone system. Housed in their sturdy 104HP Aluminum chassis [which has quite a few spare keyed connectors, meaning it's capable of powering other stuff too if you bother to do the work.] It's as solid as it feels. A fully featured system in stunning black and white looks as mean as it sounds. Speaking of, the sound is a wonder on its own; endless droning scapes to face-melting gabber kicks and all the in-between. The system definitely has a specialty, considering the authentic vacuum tubes have some intrinsic limitations. However, I think these quirks really help bring out the full monstrous voice of this system. This beautiful system focuses on Erica Synths fusion technology, making it great for drones,...
Endorphin.es Shuttle System
Based on 1 reviews
The Furthrrrr oscillator has quickly become my favorite complex oscillator, and the feature-packed Grand Terminal has immense processing capabilities. Unfortunately i soon realised, that using the Shuttle Control module as the main source of modulation (namely melodies and rhythmical triggers) does not work very well with my workflow. Note that I am using Ableton Live as the external sequencer connected to the Shuttle Control. If you are used to work with external sequencers such as the OP-Z or Digitakt, then I believe this makes complete sense and is a great mediator between the digital and analog worlds! Also, a slightly annoying issue with the system is its power distribution. The previously mentioned Shuttle Control module also doubles as a power module, but it is somewhat unstable (a...
