Finally found a great product after I had failed to find suitable lower priced usb audio interface - I tried Focusrite and Apollo, both of which gave me horrible crackles and noise. The installation of this cars was easy along with drivers and firmware update. Latency is very low and sound is crystal clear. I am very impressed and although you have to pay more than for other counterparts it's surely worth it.

Review after 18 months: This card has been rock solid. Not a single problem. Not even one hiccup. Low latency and trouble free operation. Excellent (and always updated) drivers from RME. Verdict: I'm very impressed. This is one of those units you almost forget is there, because there's never any issues with it. Just as it should be with this type of product. Based on my experience with the RayDAT I'll definitely be looking at RME again when the time comes for an update in the future.

The ESI MAYA44 eX boasts many features, high-quality sound, and a superb price-to-features-to-quality ratio. I've chosen it over the UA Apollo Solo. Current bug: an audible pop when signals stop playing when used as an ASIO playback device in a DAW. - Possibly hardware constraint, probably driver-related. Potential Fix with slightly increased CPU/latency: Press "win + r" to open the "run" dialog and type "mmsys.cpl" to open the "Sound" control panel. - Play a virtual recording device or unplugged input line through the default playback output line by checking the "listen" checkbox Optimal fix: play back with an inaudible sampler loop of digital noise or noise generator.
