Marshall Code 25 Reviews
Great Modelling Amp
I use this product in my house, during practicing and recording. I am not a professional artist, so I only recorded backing tracks, etc. for my self. However, the quality of this amp is satisfying for me.
Pros:
- You get a lot of different options for pre-amp, amp, and cabinets.
- The options for the pedals are great. Modulation pedals sound neat since DSP and modulation techniques have evolved quite a lot.
- Super easy to connect to your mac or pc. After connecting it, you can edit every setting on your amp via the "live editor" feature.
- The online community provides great amp settings for different artists, songs and genres.
- The speaker is a decent Marshall speaker. Great sound.
Cons:
- The pre-fx pedals are the worst part of this amp. Especially chorus and distortion sound a bit odd.
- There are some known issues regarding the 'volume' knob. Sometimes, it is not linear. Sometimes it makes big jumps between different values when you are turning the knob.
The pros are a lot more than cons, I would definitely suggest this amp to anyone who wants to buy a decent amp for home practice, even recording for fun.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!
Loads of presets that can be quickly dialled through to get just the right sounds for your jam. Plenty of oomph for a bedroom or even garage. Surprisingly high quality for the price range.
Overall a great amp for playing at home
When you adjust your expectations for what the product is you will be satisfied with it. It is definitely not a gigging amp, but it's perfect for home use. You can have a good tone at low volumes and the built in effects give you infinite tonal options. It is fairly user friendly, considering it is a modeling amp, but if you are a person who doesn't like to tweak settings a lot it might not be the one for you. The only issue i have with the amp is that the cab sims are not very good, but you do have the option to switch them off so it is not a big deal.
Very good and loud combo for home
Pros
-Very versatile with lots of functions and sound types and styles
-The mobile application opens new capabilities such as downloading ready samples and building, saving your own
Cons
-Built in effect samples are not satisfactory. They sound too digital
A lot of sounds for not a lot of money
I use this amp to play at home with or without A headphone (marshall mid). next to my main amp A Trace Elliot supertramp from 1998.
Positive:
*I was suprised by the sound comming from such a small amp
*It,s super to experiment with different sounds wtitout having to buy a lot of gear.
Negative:
* loading different presets into the amp takes some getting used to
*The bleutooth connection to my phone does not start automaticly .
I would recoment this amp to evrybody who needs a small amp to play at home or wants to experiment with different sounds.
Need at least a line out
The sound is good. But it lacks of a line out interface to connect with stage Hi-Fi system.
good amplifier with very good sound and good build enough choices to make your sound. use it for home improvement and I am very pleased

Great combo if you want to try out effects
I bought this amp as my first practice amp.
I chose it because I wanted to play around with effects without spending hundreds of euro on pedalboard. Overall it sounds great, it's easy to adjust (given that you've re?d user manual).
Sadly it turned out that Marhsall Gateway app (which is used to control this amp via Bluetooth) doesn't supportmy Android phone (I cannot even install this app from Google Play). So watch out for that as well if you want to control presets and effects from your phone or tablet.
I also enjoy to play with my MP3 player connected to AUX input. So much fun to play with your favorite bands!
Great sounding amp
The options and sounds possible blows me away.
Lots of power from a small box.
Had some issues connecting the app (Android), which doesn't seem to be all smooth - but it's a minor thing.
The amp is awesome value.
Great amp with awesome sound
Great amp with awesome sound. Bluetooth work?s fine, also receive music thru it, and APP it?s usefull and easy. However, on the negative side, there?s no online community for patch sharing. I just don`t have that time to loose looking for the right tone. Even though software could be improved. I?ll be waiting for the online community.
Well worth it!
Only received it recently, still playing around with the app and the presets, but giving me some nostalgia for my old JCM which I had to let go due to size.
Sounds are good and a neat little package, would recommend.
Awesome product
I bought this as my practice amp. I wanted something versatile and flexible, and this is perfect.
Despite having only 25 watt is very loud, can't stay in the same room if you crank it.
The number of possible settings is huge and with a good variety. I got pretty close to all the sounds I was trying to replicate, from David Gilmour to SOAD and G&R, without any particular problem.
It connects wonderfully with my iPhone: I can play music directly from the phone to the amp and the Gateway app to control it works pretty good.
In the end I'm very happy with it.
