I use this as a travel instrument or instrument when I need to check some tones fast, also to perform in concerts and cafes. High quality wood, smooth and pleasing to touch. Strings are soft and easy to play. I don't even feel the double strings. I fell in love immediately. Beautiful and full sound. The picking comes easy and strumming sounds soft but accurate. This instrument could easily replace standart 6-string accoustic guitar because of it's full sound. I've been playing this for a year now and I still haven't got a feeling that I should change the strings. Except the one low non-nylon G string looks little rusted but sounds perfectly fine. Also I have installed a pickup. It cost me 15 EUR. I was worried that it will do some damage to the instrument but it took it really well....

I have played a lot of electric ukuleles. This one isn't the most feature-rich, but honestly, it doesn't need to be. It's simple and does what it does very well, especially at this price point. I love that the tone knob has a catch at 50%-- it almost gives the feeling of a pickup selector, and tones are genuinely usable all across the dial. Bottom it out and send it thru drive and it gets big and thick. Dime it out and put on some chorus and you get very plinky cleans, as close to "sparkly" as nylon strings are gonna get. I did have to make a few tweaks to get this up to my standards, but none of them cost me any money. The action was very high out of the box, so I shimmed the neck to lower it, and it's great that that's even an option thanks to the neck being bolt-on. If...

Like many people I started on a concert scale ukulele, but I soon felt I would like a tenor better. I'm so happy I bought this ukulele! I love the size of the instrument and that it's thinline, I find a thinline instrument very comfortable to hold. On top of that it looks amazing. The action is perfect and doesn't need any adjustments. The sustain and tuning are very good too. There are no sharp edges to the frets. The gigbag is well made, good quality and also thinline but has no pockets. The shoulder straps are not padded and the positive side of that is that the straps can be shortened to lie perfectly against the bag if you prefer to carry it by the handle. Because I like to keep a chord sheet, tuner, spare strings and capo with my ukulele I'm using a different bag now, but you...

No exaggeration, its gorgeous! Abalone inlays, wood and construction quality sits comfortably over the price. I bought to as a step up from my amazon bought laminate mahogany tenor I have, because I really enjoy playing it and I wanted a solid wood to improve on the sound projection without spending too much, it is a bit louder and brighter. Don't have a use for the pickup system so I haven't tried it yet. Same Aquila strings I've been using on my previous uke, take about a week to settle (playing and tuning every day) and then will stay in tune forever.

Kala KA-8E 8-String Tenor Ukulele

Kala really lived up to their name on this one! The 8-strings really give that unique sound that this ukulele should have, especially when strumming! Even though picking is a little harder than on 4-stringed ukuleles, with a little practice, it can be just as easy. The tuner works accurately (but the batteries it comes with run out fast - so get extras for when the ukulele arrives! (Batteries - 3V 2032 Lithium Batteries). I bought a Rumble 15 amp with this ukulele, and it sounds perfect with it! Great sound! Just be sure to get a 1/4 audio cable with it! Extra Notes: The shipping came in less than a week! You can attach a strap to this ukulele. It comes with a bag.

Beautiful tenor ukulele with a beautiful sound, on the mellower side. It has a deep sound, really beautiful for a laminate. Also, the large neck does make it easier for those with bigger hands. If you are looking for your first ukulele this is definitely a great option. Also great if you already bought a soprano or a concert and you are looking for a Tenor to expand your collection. Sure, it is a bit more expensive than other alternatives, but with Islander you will get an added quality control that you might not get with other brands.

Kala KA SB MAP T Tenor Ukulele

Islander by Kanilea A-ST-4 Tenor

This is an extremely well built ukulele, like all Islanders. Setup was perfect. The wide neck (38mm) makes it extremely comfortable to play. I replaced the high G string with a low G string set, and the sound is very pleasant, round and warm. Two small flaws, in my opinion, are present. The overall loudness of the uke could be better, considering that it's a super-tenor. Also, the high string seems to be a little bit masked by other strings - in other words, the high string doesnt sound loud enough compared to the others. These are very small grips, and it should be considered that this is a very inexpensive uke. For the price, it's very hard to beat.

Cordoba 28T Tenor Koa

I have played dozens of ukuleles in the past (I live near a uke store that has >100 ukes) and I was looking for a decent tenor uke with 3 specific features -- looks like koa, has open gear tuners, costs a few hundred dollars US or less (uke is not my main instrument). Actual koa ukes cost much more money, which I didn't want to spend. This ukulele looks great and plays great. It came to me with no cosmetic flaws at all, no fret issues, action is fine, and it very comfortable to play. For the money, I am very happy with this uke.

Bought this for my teen who wanted a 'real wood' ukulele unlike the one bought when little. This is an excellent instrument. On our example the build and sound is flawless. Minimal tuning required out of the box. No need for any adjustments to string height. It is loud but not brash and some lovely tone can be got from it depending on the player. The gig bag it comes with is also excellent quality with thick foam/polystyrene used for protection. No real need for a hard case unless really necessary. This instrument could be used for public performance without any hesitation. My budding musician is extremely pleased and it is played almost every day.
