Best Masterwork 09" Custom Splash Alternatives

I've seen countless drummers play this splash cymbal in videos and on records for years! As with any music instrument, the sound differs depending on room etc. so I was hesitant to purchase one as it would be a special order because of where I live... I finally gave in... And I am NOT disappointed! It cuts through the mix even better than expected for it's size, and playing it in conjunction with a Zildjian Oriental Trash China, the sounds effects are unified on the kit. It's made me want the 11" now too!

This is a lovely complex sounding splash. It has a tremendous amount of wash from the wide lathed edge and is bright and cutting. The sound is slightly gritty and grainy. The biggest surprise is that the bell gives its own sound in complete contrast which has quite a ding to it. Very versatile with varying sounds depending upon where you hit it.

I really like this splash, it looks good and has very good build quality. It sounds quite bright and brilliant, has a nice clean sound. Maybe it's just very slightly more on the quiet type of splashes.
