Meinl 14" Byzance Thin Crash

Meinl 14

Based on 2 reviews

This is my second favourite crash cymbal that I own. (Second only to my 17" Meinl Byzance thin crash). Like all Byzance cymbals it has a clarity of tone and warm dark presence that only the absolute best cymbals can offer. It cuts through any mix with a fast attack but that's only where the fun startes because the wash is sensational. It belies it's small diameter. I've never heard a 14" crash with such character. I would highly recommend it as a secondary crash for live, studio, anything!

Zultan 14" Crash CS Series

Zultan 14

The Zultan CS Series are the ONLY cymbals I've yet discovered using B25 Bronze. They always have in the description reference to "Slightly Twisted", which makes me wonder if this is a result of the unusual bronze alloy. 5% more tin than bell bronze. The sound samples seem to convey more wash (which I like) than B20 bronze, but will these cymbals be more susceptible to cracking? I'm not generally a VERY heavy hitter, so I think they will be ok for me. This 14" crash doesn't appear to be twisted in any way, not even slightly. I'll have to take a closer look on a very hot day! The appearance and colour are the same as B20 bronze. The finish is good and so is the sound.

Zultan 14" Q Crash

Ordered this with the 18” crash a long time ago, but didn’t review it until now. These Zultan Q cymbals sound absolutely amazing and they’ll last. Been using the 18 as my main crash/ride for 6 years now and it still holds up today! This 14 inch mostly serves as half of a stack now and gives a nice bit of bite to a stack. When used alone it’s a short bright crash full of character. Can recommend for lighter music, for heavier stuff, it’ll cut initially, but the sustain is very soft.

Millenium 14" B20 Crash

Millenium 14

These Cymbals are very good for the price they cost. made of B 20 so those sound like the typical B 20 Cymbals - good. there is only one thing which is not top notch and thats the sustain, it is a bit shorter as from those expensive ones ( Zildjian etc) I play very hard at some points and I hit them hard since nearly half a year and they are still with me, no cracks, keyholes or whatsoever. so the Cymbals from Millenium are very very good if you are on a low Budget and play like Metal/Punk or such things. a clear recommendation from my side.

Paiste PST3 14" Crash

Paiste PST3 14

Based on 4 reviews

The Paiste PST3 14'' Crash is a great choice for a drummer on a tight budget. It has a sparkly sound and a decent sustain. I would describe the sound crisp and fairly bright. Not too bright though. It cuts through the mix very nicely and has a personal character. The quality seems ok, but it all depends on your drumming style. A hard-hitting drummer can easily get these broken within a couple of weeks. Mine has lasted very well considering the quite heavy use. It has been my number one crash for a long time. The price is low so they are easy to get even if you're on a shoelace budget. I highly recommend these for everyone.
