Meinl Fat Stack - Matt Garstka

Meinl Fat Stack - Matt Garstka

This stack is expensive, but it is worth every cent and, as a matter of fact, the buyer ends up with three amazing cymbals by the price of one. The stack, created by Matt Garstka (Animals As Leaders) for the Artist Concept Series, can be described as a perforated 18 inch Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Crash above a perforated 16 inch Meinl Byzance Extra Dry China ? however there are some differences, besides the holes, to their non-perforated counterparts: they look more flexible and the hammering patterns are different. When stacked, these cymbals produce a earthy, trashy, dark, rich and dry noise. It?s a loud and powerful stack, without being aggressive or annoying, and it is very sensitive to the tension of the cymbal mate, meaning that one can extract a wide range of sounds, by loosening or...

Paiste 14" PSTX Swiss Flanger Stack

I bought this cymbal as a last addition to my complete set of cymbals (mostly PST 8). Couldn't have picked a better one! Perfect as an aux hi-hat, just an accent that cuts more through, or if you're playing a bit hip hop. Especially if you use a cymbal arm where you can adapt the tightness of the 2 cymbals.

Meinl Byzance Vintage Smack Stack

Shipping: Arrived within a day of ordering. Packaging was adequate given the normal bent shape of the cymbals. Came in a box along with a boom arm stand. Quality: Gives the desired clap effect. A slight metallic ring after-tone is heard, but can be mitigated with some gaff tape. Would recommend for anyone looking for a clap/smack stack.

I am totally in love with this clap stack. Everyone's first reaction when they hear the first hit (or should I say "clap") is a smile and usually a comment "what the ... this sounds exactly like an analog clap". Like I said I love it and it has made more creative, because I try to include it into regular beats.

Was on the fence for this but glad I got it. Great sound - it is indeed an 808 clap! But a bit more lively and it sits brilliantly within the full kit. Used it a big gig last weekend and it went down really well - everyone loved it. I'm sure the more expensive one front another manufacturer is also very good, but for the price this is hard to beat if you want a clap sound in your set up. Only used it once so far so can't comment on longevity, but feels well made.

Meinl Bullet Stack - Luke Holland

This stack is perfect for a fast and high attack while you solo or do a drum fill. His unique sound can catch people off guard with his high enegry when you ride on to it. This stack does not have alot of cons but he does lack low and fat pitch. But if combined with a strong, fat attack bass drum it can lead to a deadly combo! I highly reccomend this for advanced played who are into extreme metal! Rock on!!

So I didnt know really how much the quality of "stack made" set of cymbals was gonna change for just having a regular crash and china stacked on top of each other, but wow... just buy it! Its not that expensive and at worst you have a ozone crash and china... But i promise you wont be disappointed!

Meinl 10"/10" M.G. Temporal Stack 2

I love this stack. I had a 12" Sabian stack that I made before, and it sounded decent, but it was missing something for me. Playing this stack, I see exactly what Matt sought to create, and Meinl & Matt knocked it out of the park with this one! Depending on how you tension it, this stack makes for great texture and effects in your drumming, offering you a controlled response, with just the right amount of dryness! 10/10 Now I have to check out the Temporal Stack 1!

the cymbals work great both as single cymbals when separate, and as a loud stack cymbal. The 16 crash cymbal is a great efx cymbal, although slightly quiet, would work as a stand-alone cymbal for lighter applications. The 18 China is loud and cutting, but still refined and dark/trashy too. Highly recommend to anyone considering a larger stack set of cymbals for a very affordable price!

Meinl 08"/10" M.G. Temporal Stack 1

A stack with a very quick attack and release, and not too airy. There are a couple stacks out there with similar qualities (eg the other temporal stack / Luke Holland's stacks) but this one hits home for me for how dry it sounds and how quickly it decays so that it doesn't take up too much sonic space.
