Zultan 18" Rock Beat China
Based on 2 reviews
Before I got my hands onto this cymbal, frankly speaking I expected it to sound kind of bad because of its price But when I tried it, I kind of felt lucky and glad for buying this kind-of-low-priced China cymba; it sounds excellent and Zultan seriously didn't lie about the sound i.e. short and beautiful high pitched with slowly decaying vibrations I tried making a stack cymbal using this China as well and it sounded simply amazing And this may sound silly but I like how shiny this cymbal is haha This China is suitable for metal music that involves a lot of breakdowns in my opinion like deathcore No cons. Used this live once, sounds fine live
Zildjian 18" K Custom Special Dry China
Based on 1 reviews
I do have other China cymbals, 18â Paiste 2002 and quite a senior 22â Zildjian Swish, but I saw this being used by one of my favourite drummers, Pete-Ray Biggin, Level 42 and liked..!! So it has incredible explosive trash attack, which really cuts through, without playing it particularly too hard and the fade is again also almost instant..!! Itâs great also as an accent after an initial crash cymbal hit, you have to tell yourself to limit the use, because as a cymbal magpie and drummer, itâs a very addictive sound and to use for the right music/genre..!!
Meinl 18" Classics Cust. Dual China
Based on 1 reviews
I had been using the Classics Custom Dark 18'' Heavy China for a while and, while I was happy, I was also tempted to experiment with a slightly brighter sound. It suits my needs perfectly in terms of sound. It can also take a hell of a beating, which I have very much appreciated with the previous Meinl chinas that I have used. I'm a heavy hitter so it's good to know that this china is also top notch in terms of quality. The design of the cymbal is of course an extra little bonus, as my drumset is focused around the black-and-gold aesthetic and these Classics Custom Dual cymbals look very sleek! This china combines everything that I've ever wanted from a china cymbal, I'm very happy with my purchace!
Meinl 18" Byzance China

This China just stands out from anything else that I've used. It cuts through in both a live and studio setting whilst still not sounding at all "bongy". This is a dry-sounding china but also retains a very pleasing tonality. The only downside to this cymbal is that it can be quite prone to cracking. I'm not that much of a hard hitter, and I cracked one of these after 5 years. However, with that said, I was using a soft cymbal case, so that could have been a factor also. All in all, once you use this, you may find it hard to use anything else!
Zultan 18" Heritage China
Based on 1 reviews
I bought this cymbal because my other cheap china was broken and sounded horrible, I looked for something to do the classic percussive china job but with also a bit of sustain, for parts where you would normally use a crash. The cymbal sounds and look amazing, I do mostly metal but I think it would work in any other context. I recorded some drum sessions and still the sound was very good and balanced in volume with other cymbals Cons? Well now I'll have to buy also a couple of heritage crashes hehe
Millenium 18" Still Series China regular
Based on 4 reviews
I bought these along with the Millennium Cymbal so I could practice during the 2020 lockdown. I wasn't sure what to expect as they are not particularly expensive. But when they arrived I was really surprised. The build quality and finish of them is really high. The sound is exactly what I expected from a low volume cymbal. And they are surprisingly heavy too. If you are looking for a non expensive set of cymbals to practice without annoying your other half and the neighbours, these are definitely the cymbal for you.
Zultan 18" Raw China
Based on 4 reviews
I would like to start this review off by saying that this is my favourite cymbal on my set (check "amendedband" on YT for a sound sample and a small review). The cymbal is really thin and dry. Also - really trashy. I always wanted something like a Sabians AA holy china. This seems to be really close to that, but also is dry, a feat I really love about this cymbal. The cymbal had a few, what I would like to call - linear scratches. But it has a raw finish, so maybe that is normal. I have already owned this cymbal for 6 months and I always get a pleasant surprise every time I hit it. A top quality sounding cymbal for an unbeatable price - recommend for anyone who is into heavier music.
Meinl 18" Classics Extreme China
Based on 6 reviews
This China cymbal is very sturdy , when played you have confidence it won't break by the way it feels , so you can use it in the practice room without fear. It's quite abrasive and cuts very well so in live applications you can cut through walls of sound with ease. It has trashiness to it in combination with brightness , but has a slight metallic overtone. I play a lot of heavier stuff and it fits nicely , it can fit in rock also. For the price range it is competing in I think this is a smart buy and you will surely find it quite useful in your arsenal.
Zultan 18" China Dark Matter
Based on 3 reviews
My old 16" Stagg china was well suited to heavy music. I got this Zultan to try something a little different and I'm increasingly enjoying it the more I play it. First off, the Dark Matter china isn't quite as loud as others I've played, so my ears are a little happier. But I love the overall sound too! My terminology is obviously subjective, but to me, this china is not a crackler, rattler or a sparkler, but more of a hisser. And it's a nice hiss, not too high and shrill, but a bit softer and more subtle than my previous chinas. There's also some quite deep and somewhat warm undertones in this dish which give it a rather dark and mysterious presence to my ears, and it has a fairly long sustain to it. I've found that it takes nicely to different dynamics, sounding darker and...
Meinl 18" Classics Custom Dark China
Based on 3 reviews
I was looking a new set of cymbals with a less bright tone that my usual set and came across the Meinl Classic Custom Dark range. I have to say that they are the most visual dramatic set of cymbals that I've come across and I was very impressed by samples of the sounds so I bought a basic starter set. When I got them delivered they were even better than I was expecting. So I decided to expand the set and added a small 10" splash and this 18" China. Again I am very pleased with the look and typical 'trashy' China sound. I am a gigging drummer playing rock music and the cymbals needed to cut though but not overpower things. Oddly enough my band have been complaining that my regular top line cymbal were TOO bright. So while I was myself intereste d in trying something different...
