A constant source of inspiration
Here's a simple instrument, almost like a toy. Yet it's possibilities are endless when mixed together with electronic ambiances and synth-based melodies. Perfect for low-tempo vibes with an acoustic touch, recorded with reverb and delay. Enjoy!
good sound.
For the price, I think the build quality is not quite good enough. - the springs tend to shift sidewards while being used.
The sound is good though.
Perfect for beginners
I was obsessed to learn to play Kalimba and I thing that this one is perfect for beginners.Very beautiful sound and easy to tune.
Rather a toy that a musical instrument - but a great one!
It is not very practical, but very nice and satisfying to play. Good sound quality, nice material, slightly weird tuning, but overall feels great. I found that I use it more as a stress toy than as actual music instrument due to the dreamy "minor" scale it has, but still - no complaints.
Love the sound
Great little small Kalimba. Firs one i own and i love it. The sound is very nice and i can play for hours to my newborn son. He sleeps like a baby to the sound of it :)

Awesome Sound
I bought this Kalimba for a school production of Lion King to use for some sound effects. It was cheap but sounded great. Using it on top of a Djembe drum to amplify the sound it really had a traditional and magical sound to it.
It was everything we needed and more. I have since used it in a recording for an ambient dance track.
i would buy this and many others. You can slightly unscrew the kalimba and tune the 'Tongues' to your liking.
Fun.
It is a fun sound maker but unfortunately not much more for me.
The "tounges" are angled in a way witch makes it hard to get a nice grip with my big fingers and the dreamy scale it is tuned in is not very practical, you can change the tuning with the right tools though.
It is also quite quiet witch makes it impractical in recordings with non contact microphones.
