Meinl PM3BK Maracas

Not what I expected from Meinl

Meinl make fantastic percussion, and where possible I always choose Meinl products because I know I can be sure I will receive good sounding and high quality instruments.

These maracas sound fantastic, and are absolutely perfect in live settings to cut over amplified guitar or vocals. They have such a volume in fact that it can be uncomfortable to play them too close to your ear.

My issue with these maracas is not the sound, but the quality. Plastic products I have had from Meinl in the past have felt sturdy and high quality, but these just feel a little thin and flimsy. There are also a few rough edges on the plastic where it has been molded.

Overall these are great sounding maracas at a reasonable quality, I would just have expected better from Meinl.
