Hughes&Kettner Tubemeister 110 Box

Hughes&Kettner Tubemeister 110 Box

Based on 4 reviews

Bought as companion to Hughes&Kettner TubeMeister Deluxe 40 for home recording studio. Although the amp probably can work without the box in PowerSoak mode 0 watt, I feel it more secure to get it connected to appropriate box, not to damage the amp by some accidental pushing of other output buttons. Using this box I can practice without earphones at very low sound level and with Red Box speaker modelling on Tubemeister 40 I have sound of much larger box. Moreover it takes almost no place - box+amp altogether measure 55x45x25 cm. It's relatively lightweight, easy to manipulate. Nothing to complain so far.

Headrush FRFR108 MKII

I now have a pair of these (this paired with Mk1). The specs are updated though I can’t really notice any difference in sound, but then surely that’s how it should be given its ’FRFR’! However, the original was good enough and pairs very well with my HX Stomp (also old Vox Tonelab SE and a couple of others). The Bluetooth is a welcome addition and hardware volume control is handy. Connects and remembers. A solid unit; the 8’ version is super portable, storable and fits into nooks that challenge other gear!

Palmer Cab 212 X Unloaded

Bought this one after long consideration as I decided to carve a unique sound for myself. The cabinet is a pleasant surprise, it is light, the handles are comfortable, and comes wired. The left mono jack gives a mono, parallel wired sound. The grill cloth is easily removable revealing the speaker sockets. The manual and the website give ample instructions on how to set it up. I've tested it with two Celestion speakers and boy this little box sure can sing. I can only recommend it if you're looking to put together a boutique cabinet with custom loudspeakers. Immer wieder gerne!

Engl E110 Gigmaster 110

Engl E110 Gigmaster 110

I bought the matching Engl 1x10 Cabinet for the Engl Gigmaster 15 Head. The combination sounds great and blindfolded you could not guess that this is only a 10" Speaker. The sound is well balanced with great bass and very clear highs, especially at lower volumes. That makes this a great choice for home use. The build quality is on a very high level. The black tolex is applied perfectly and the metal grill with the chrome Engl logo sits tight (no buzzing/vibrating like other cabinets with metal grill) and looks great. I can fully recommend this small 1x10 cabinet to use with your Gigmaster, Rockmaster, Metal Master, Iron Ball or other amp head that delivers a "modern" tone.

Conclusion : Just go for it, you will enjoy this toy :)

Blackstar FLY 3 Extension Cabinet

Blackstar FLY 3 Extension Cabinet

Based on 12 reviews

I bought this to go with my Blackstar Fly 3 desktop amp. I bought it as I was planning on using the fly 3 as a speaker for my iPod and laptop so reasoned that a second speaker would give me a stero spread. The volume certainly increases compared to using the amp on its own, and it sounds good when using it as a music speaker. I found it was very good when using it with my laptop watching movies, certainly better than the computer speakers. The only issue, just like the amp, is that it's quite a bulky item, and putting it in a bag along with the fly 3 amp takes up a lot of space. It's built well, and survived a month of being shoved in and out of bags, indoors and outdoors it hasn't fallen apart. The method of cable storage is quirky but I would rather have had a port to be able to...

Quilter BlockDock 10TC

Quilter BlockDock 10TC

I'm using the cabinet with a Quilter 202 Toneblock. Apart from the care I need to take combining the 200W amplifier with the limited power of the cabinet it is working fine. The blockdock is loud enough, I mostly use it in a stereo setup with a Fender superchamp (also 10" speaker) and this combonation is loud. What I also use the Quilter combo for is FRFR setup for my Boss GT-1000-Core, which is really a great match when using the amp/IR function of the GT. The flexibility all this gives me is great, in small, portable, but powerful package. Also having this as monitor speaker and the balanced line out to the mixing console is a great option, no mics needed for cabinets..

Vox Amplug 2 Cabinet

Vox Amplug 2 Cabinet

Based on 6 reviews

If you need something to make your electric guitar or bass _audible_, without soaking up lots of room or all your checked-luggage allowance, get this in combination with an Amplug. Gotchas: Make sure you feed it a battery with _at least_ 9v. With the stock battery, my bass produced nasty distortion. When I switched that to a 9.6v rechargeable, it cleaned right up and sounded, well, as good as you can hope for from a 1-inch cone. Remember to switch it off when you're done. Easy to forget, and the other reason I'm glad I use rechargeables. Most useful for: fretless bass with flatwound strings, trying to keep up with acoustic instruments and voice. The built-in connector cable is a little fiddly and will probably be the first thing to break. That was the only reason I saw to knock off a...

Vox BC 108 Cabinet

Vox BC 108 Cabinet

I have laughed when the tiny box arrived. I was crying laughing when i open it to see the cab. Wondering if i had to put it on the valve head. And I just had my eyes just wide open when i tried it out. It's sound REALLY good. Of course, its sound differs from a 12 inches cab. But I like it. It allows me to have several sounds easly (8 vs 12 inches), it's also lightweight and neighbour friendly (well, more than my other cabs because it can be loud to). And finally, it's budget friendly MY CONCLUSION: - It's actually a very good surprise: It's sound actually good. - It's a very good value for money - It's a must have for portable and training purposes.

Headrush FRFR-108 Active Monitor

Headrush FRFR-108 Active Monitor

In short - best buy for 200 EUR range this year :) Was about to sell my Helix LT. It is good device but being forced to work with studio monitors was an inconvinience. It sounded well but did not feel great. With Headrush - this thing rocks. Already had some complaints form neighbours...:) Now I have very close feeling to "amp in the room". Some re-EQ was needed as unit is quite bass heavy but at the end it is realy rich and masive sound. Even tried with regular music sound - this thing can blow of some roof in party time :) Was thinking should i get a pair but for now I am very happy with mono, as this feels much more like regular combo amp. Pros: great sound with modeler, very powerful, cheap, compact. Cons: Basicaly none. I wish instead of contour swith at the back for...
