Paiste 12" 900 Series Splash

Quality: What is there to say: Paiste (Swiss) quality, Paiste 2002 bronze, perfection! Sound: Explosive, shimmering but dark. Perfect if you play louder styles, but still prefer darker cymbals. Also, this 12" splash doesn't sound like a (too) little crash, that was a problem I had with some other models and that many 12" splashes have, but rather sounds like a proper splash (that explosive short initial burst) but with more volume, and a little bit more sustain (being 12" after all). There is a good amount of YT videos for sound samples - I bought it based on them, and I am more than pleased.
Schlagwerk 12" Cajon Splash

I've just received the Cymbal and played it once. At first I wasn't sure which size to go for but the 12" was the right choice for me this time. The sound is amazing, splashy effect with a longer resonance and very smooth on the hand because it's quite thin and soft. Interesting is that the sound of the cymbal blends in nicely with the woodie and raw sound of the cajon. Can't tell much about the quality and how durable the cymbal is as I just got it. I must say it is not cheap but you pay for good shit : ) I totally recommend the splash
Zultan 12" Aja Splash

I fell in love with this splash the moment it arrived. I also have two smaller models of this splash, which are also of great quality, but this one is at that perfect place between a crash and a splash where it can fill both roles. Currently, it sits right in the middle of my kit above the toms, and it provides that extra variant to add extra flare to my drumming. The sound isn't too resonant, almost like it doesn't have a tone at all, but it's so even and with a nice decay. Even the bell produces little resonance - quite the peculiar sound, but in a good way! Well made solid cymbal with a balanced sound. Totally worth the buy.
Meinl 12" HCS Splash

Bought this for recording and live shows, since my current splash developed a nasty circular crack on the inside. This splash is a bit heavier than most splashes that I've used, it's much thicker, thus is produces a darker sound. It's not as airy as most splashes, almost more akin to a crash cymbal, there's a certain bell-like quality to it. Nonetheless, it's okay as our drummer specifically wanted a darker, more defined sound. It also has a bit more ring than usual, but not by a mile. Can't really comment on durability yet, since I've just got it a week ago, but due to it being heavier and fatter, I'm guessing it should survive longer than it's thinner cousins. Anyhow, it's fine, especially for the price, but I do advise comparing it's sound to whatever You use on a daily...
Millenium 12" B20 Splash

I have bought this together with the Zildjian 10" Spiral Stacker. To stack it on the 12" Millenium. Plus: I didn't have a 12" cymbal yet. So I bought this on the many good reviews, saying this was a 'crashy' splash. The result of the 10"/12" stack was nice, but not better than a much better sounding stack I already had. With much experimenting, I found that the Zildjian Spiral Stacker combined with my Istanbul 16" China sounded much more interesting. It's a waste for that beautiful China so I got a similar cheap China to put it on and that works just as nice. On itself, the Millenium sounds more of a crash than a splash. In fact, it doesn't sound and play like a splash.........at all. It's got a very bright crash tone, and however little, there's...
Sabian 12" AAX O-Zone Splash

Cymbal arrived in a traditional finish. Good cymbal for accents. Trashy and short decay, slightly metallic, thin and not piercing. Looks good, 12" is a good size for an in between crash and splash size. This cymbal doesn't sound so great if hit quietly; its sound is too isolating, so it needs to be hit harder to be appreciated. This cymbal is not very durable, due to its thickness and a preference to hit it quite hard and the fact that the holes are close to the edge, so be warned. Overall, not the perfect cymbal but great nonetheless. There will be some people that will absolutely fall head over heels in love with its sound, I was just not one of them. Maybe you will be.
