Bought the pancake gong drum to enhance the sonic range of the kit..It works like a charm,is solidly built(the metal arch that conforms to the shell minimizes wobble and stress) and sounds perfect! Lows like a bass drum,but with significally different character,sweet and punchy at the same time.Only drawback is the factory-installed single-ply head.A double-ply head with a ring makes a big change and i would recommend it.Overall,a great addition to any kit,though a bit pricey.

Sound and build quality excellent. Spur legs could have been longer for more support when playing. Although a little pricey, a great lightweight transportable bass drum.
