But they are actually really good. Proper hickory sticks.

The laquer can be a bit slippery, but that's ok for me and can easily be fixed with some tape.

In all honesty, I bought these because I liked the idea of having them in a photo. I'd thought I'd use them to advertise my private tuition. But what a surprise!!! They feel great - especially on a practice pad. They have a typical 5A feel. As they're wooden tip I won't take them to any Rock Gig. Not sure yet how strong they'd be anyway. However, I won't hesitate to use them in a Jazz setting. My gut feeling (having only had them a few days) is that they'll excel for practice on a pad - and on a snare. Students love them - and so do I. They're a real surprise - especially at the price.
