Millenium PD-222 Pro Series BD Pedal Reviews
Millenium PD-222 Pro Series BD Pedal
The Millenium PD-222 Pro Series BD Pedal is a budget-class double pedal for a drummer getting started. It is not professional quality but not low-class either. If you want to experiment with double bass drum playing, this pedal is a good option. You get the features you want with only a small investment. The quality is not tour-grade, so don't expect these to last forever. Although it has lasted few years on my setup, so it is not completely useless. The beaters have a plastic sound to them which can be good when playing heavier music. If you want a more traditional beater sound, you can easily pad the beater with something softer. All in all, this is an ok pedal for a beginning drummer.
Good money that will last
I bought this double pedal 2 years ago and it still functions like new. Of course it lost some paint in pedals but that's not really important. You can also play fast and for 2 years nothing broke yet. Everything still feels sturdy and I have a feeling that it will work for next 2 years :D
Nice! I have been beating the s*¤ß out of these pedals for 3 years at this point and still they stand as new. No wearing out, no damaged or broken parts, works just perfect. Obviously it is not a Pearl Demon Drive bass pedal but for this price it's just the perfect choice for an intermediately skilled hobby drummer.
Happily suprised!
We bought one of these just to have it in our rehearsal space and then four years, many hours of use and quite a few gigs later it just keeps on working. The quality - price ratio is nothing but amazing.
The quality pedals.
Extremely durable and comfortable enough. Not for professionals but for beginners and mid-level drummers fit perfectly. Stable platform and quality parts.
Really good pedal.
The millenium pedals is the same as the dw 5000 its really good, you may need to ajust the tension to suit.
Brilliant Double Bass Pedal for the Money
As a novice to drumming, I always found it hard to get my bass pedal just how I liked it. On my first kit, my pedal didn't seem to do what I wanted it to due to lack of adjustability. When I decided to upgrade to a new one, I thought I would try a double to see how it would go. I found this one and having bought a couple of other Millenium Pro products I thought I would try it. FANTASTIC. Totally changed my playing. You can adjust both pedals easily in height, angle, tension and distance apart and they work well on carpet or mats or solid floors due to spikes and Velcro. The price is brilliant plus the Red Floor Plate gives them a bit of flash. Why pay more for the same in a big brand name. I still can't play double bass very well mind you!!
Really positively surprised of their quality for such a low price. Don't know how they'd perfor on an acoustic kit, but for an e-kit they've surpassed my hopes a million times. Been using them for 4 years and counting and they are showing no sign of breaking. The feel is REALLY bad compared to "proper" pedals, and I'd never use these live or even rehearsing, but for your personal training this price is unbeatable.
Very good for the money
I haven't use mine a lot so I can't say anything about the lifespan on those. But so far I got very much for the money. They feel stable, distinct, and good adjustment possibilities. Not at all cheapy feeling, more quality feeling actually.
Great value for money!!!!!! Very strong and durable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great value for little money! It sounds great and is pretty strong/durable considering the bashing that it's been through in the short time that I've had it for!
Very customisable
This is a great first pedal and double pedal for beginners to use. You can adjust everything on both sides all around and the beaters are double sided.
What I ended up doing later on was using them both as separate pedals on different kits so I could leave one at my practice kit at home and one at band practice, which you don't get with any other double bass pedals.
What I have found though is the plastic holding the spring in place at the bottom wears away and the screw no longer keeps the bottom part from turning and coming loose. That's from 2 years ago and I've already got a more professional kick pedal now and it just needs something to hold it in place like an elastic band.
Great quality
I bought these as an affordable option to get started drumming, with a view to getting a "proper" pedal further down the line. When I got them, before I even set them up, I was amazed by the build quality and slightly overwhelmed by the amount of customizablity!
You can change every aspect of the feel of the pedal, beater height, bounce, stiffness, pedal height, chain angle ...everything! You can even use the slave as a stand alone by simly switching the beater over to save weight if you are playing a gig and only need a single kick.
Having played with them for a few weeks I have them dialed in to exactly how I like a double pedal to feel, they rival some DW pedals I have used before in terms of responsiveness and I expect to use them for a long time to come!
Overall I'm very happy with these and would recommend trying them if you can before looking at some of the bigger names in pedals.
Cheap and reliable
For this price, it's a very decent double pedal. If you're just begining to learn double pedals, it's the right choice. Unlike other Millenium products, this one seems to hold on and not disintegrate after several months of use.
Good possibilities
This is a really cheap pedal!
But its features are fantastic.
You can tweak it so it fits you perfect!
I bought it about 4years ago and haven't had any problems with it.
And I can promise the pedal have been in use in an angry hc/metal band!
Good quality!
Didn't expect much from this pedal but after 2 and a half years its still works and feels great.
Very smooth and good quality.
double bass pedal
very good for beginners, but for anyone experienced with playing double bass, i wouldn't recommend this pedal.
great value
Perfect starter double kick pedal. I bought this when I wanted to learn how to play double kick pedal, but didn't want to invest too much in case it wasn't for me. I love them, I recently tried out a friends double kick for comparison (well known brand and expensive) I couldn't tell much a difference, nothing worth spending the extra 200 euro on anyway! I will be keeping these for a long long time. Once you spend a few minutes, adjusting settings to suit your personal preference they are spot on. Although only owning these pedals for just a few months, you can tell they are built to last. If I could change anything, it would be to have some kind of block to stop your toe from occasionally touching the chain!
Good for the money
I know millenium are far from the best quality on most products, and I'm not the most experienced drummer but these pedals have a nice response, you can really play fast with them, they seem pretty solid and they have a velcro strip on the bottom to stop them sliding about.
If you want that bit of extra quality you gotta pay for it, but for the price these do perform pretty damn well.
Millenium PD-222 Pro Series
I bought this for my 13 year old son ( big Nikko McBrain / Iron Maiden fan )
He loves it and punishes the hell out of it.
It will take a lot of abuse - Great Product and looks good too.
Quality double pedal
Excellent pice of kit and relatively easy to put together despite the absence of any instructions whatsoever. Would highly recommend at this price level and think the product competes well with gear that is way more pricey!
