Great Practice Cymbals

Use in my apartment to practice and to not disturb the neighbors

Excellent set of cymbals

A really good set of cymbals with a fantastic sound. The hi hats sound really crisp and the 18 inch crash and ride are good. The 16 inch crash is not quite as good as the 18. One other issue is the size of the hole in the top of the cymbal. it was too small to fit my Tama stands which I had to modify slightly. For some reason when I measured the holes they are all slightly smaller than my standard cymbals by about 1 - 1.5 mm. Still very good for the price - I have just ordered the China to match

Amazing budget set

When lockdown kicked in i decided to invest in a set of these (with some mesh heads) and set up the kit in the attic. Just for reference i'm a heavy handed hard rock drummer for 15 years.

Volume: I find it very good, it's much quieter than my normal (medium and heavy) cymbals but that's expected.. No complaints from the neighbours over 6 months.

Feel: Not bad at all, perfectly playable.

Tone: If you keep in mind that these are not for your studio recording, i think it's fine. A little harsher, a little more high frequencies, less body. As expected. Only the HH feels a bit too harsh for my ears.

Durability: No problem over 6 months with my heavy hands.

I'd recommend these to anyone who wants to have a set of quiet cymbals.. You can go for the big brands and pay 3x the money, get 1-2 dB noise reduction and a touch more tone.. but i don't see the point as i'll only use them for practice in the attic and maybe maybe an occasional acoustic gig.

Great cymbals!

Amazing for the price. They sound as good as low volumes can get, and they look pretty good too (no practise cymbal logos here). They really are low volume too.

My only gripe is that the hihats aren't very heavy, so they feel a little odd and don't quite close all the way, even when messing with spring settings.

But for the price? They're perfect.

I don't see why you would buy the more expensive ones

These cymbals are quiet, do the job very well. Very important : THEY ARE THE REAL SIZE! Not like other manufacturer's (we all know who I'm talking about) 13" hi-hats, 14" crashes, and 18'' rides (Yikes!). When you practice at home the size of the cymbals is one of the most important things to consider. The cons: hi-hats are the loudest. You can somewhat mitigate that by putting a small towel or a cloth between them though, also because of the lighter weight the ride especially but also the crashes swing more than the real thing. Aside from that, very satisfied, will recommend these to anyone who for some reason can't practice on the real cymbals, these come very very close to them. And also you get an extra 18" crash, how cool is that!

Exceptional low volume cymbals

No matter the low cost Millenium low volume cymbals do stand out. Hi hat extremely good sound quality the rest need a stronger stick approach. All in all they do cover really good the needs for a home studio practice set up as they will keep your neighbours calm and stress free. Totally recommended

Great Low Volume Cymbals for the Money

I bought these along with the Millennium China Cymbal so I could practice during the 2020 lockdown.

I wasn't sure what to expect as they are not particularly expensive. But when they arrived I was really surprised.

The build quality and finish of them is really high.

The sound is exactly what I expected from a low volume cymbal. And they are surprisingly heavy too.

If you are looking for a non expensive set of cymbals to practice without annoying your other half and the neighbours, these are definitely the cymbal for you.

Fantastic low volume cymbals

I spent many hour’s deciding which low volume cymbals to get, Zildjian, Sabian, WHD, Arborea or these Millenium ones. I already had a set of WHD HiHats which are ok, but quite harsh so was worried about buying cheap again, but I didn’t need to worry they are great. The best cymbal is the ride which has a really nice sound to it, both crashes are good and the hihats are better than the WHD set, all I have done is to add a drum tac to the top hat to just remove a bit of the higher frequencies. I have them setup with a Natal 4 piece with Drum-Tec design series mesh heads and it all works well together using either sticks or rods. Only used them at home so far, but I’m sure you could use them for a small acoustic gig quite easily.

Would definitely recommend them, plus I saved myself a couple of hundred pounds over the big brand versions.

Bright but low volume.

I use this with my mesh head kit and it blends in perfectly. I've hooked up a Yamaha EAD10 and they come through really well on all recordings - almost as if they're not even silent cymbals (but they're superb for low volume playing!).

The hats have a slightly higher pitch to them, but this is negligible depending on room - I use mine in a glass conservatory where the high end bounces around like crazy, so it's to be expected.

At the price and with an extra 18" crash, I don't see why you would ever use anything else. Some people will say "the feel" on more expensive products is better, but that's so so so minor in relation to the overall product. You can still practice exactly how you would, but without spending twice the money.

I think this budget cymbal set from Millenium is outstanding! The hats have a nice sound and the crashes and the ride sound awesome. Very useful for playing in an apartament like me. I totally recommend it!

Great cymbals

I have a small studio in an apartment, so I decided to buy this cymbals because volume is a real issue for me. These low volume cymbals sound great, they really are so much quieter, even with hard hitting! If you're just using at home I definitely recommend it.
