I have always played the keys, but when i felt and heared the MK2 I had goosebumps! amazing quality and delivery!
Perfect for my use, don't buy if you're a pianist.
I use this as a MIDI controller for my own productions with a lot of NI software, and I love it. However, do not expect anything close to a piano playing experience. Almost every other competitor in the market has a better keyboard feel. For example, the S88 has the same weight to all keys. A real piano will feel lighter as you go up the range. So yeah, you will be very disappointed if you're looking for a realistic piano feel. For everything else, it's truly amazing.
Fantastic Keyboard
For the price this keyboard comes with all of the heavy artillery needed for a studio set up. Pretty large in size, so make sure you have space for it. and if you haven't make some space, cause you need it ! Also Hanz Zimmer uses it, so why wouldn't you want one !
Smart but not quality
Qualitywise worst keyboard I've ever had by far I made videos how keys are clicking and not well weighted as well som are harder to push than others..
Overall impressed
First, the design looks beautiful and clean. The keys feels very good in their ballistic and the functionality is impressive, where it communicates straight with native instrument VSTs.
You get all you need for a good price
Beautiful Keyboard BUT
The keyboard is a monster when it comes to midi controllers, but the material is plasticky and gets easily damaged the matt black feeling is cheaper than I expected, Native instrument softwares gets very complicated especially with the new mac softwares,
The best MIDI kontroler for piano players.
I bought it for my wife because she is a piano player who played 20 years ago grand piano and want to play again now. It was a whole journey to make her to use MIDI controller instead stage piano. She tested F90, P515 stage pianos and others. On the end, feeling of the S88 mk2 with Fatar piano controller was ultimate representation of grand piano for her.
We selected this keyboard just because of Noire virtual piano that she loves the most. I love semi-wighted so I selected NI S61 mk2 for me.
If you will not use Native Instruments virtual instruments you can save a lot of money by purchasing Studiologic SL88 studio, or if you want wooden keys from Fatar that are better then this ones Studiologic SL88 Grand is a solution for you, but you will be without full support for NKI plugins.
Also K&M Omega desk is a perfect supplement to this keyboards because is stabile as a rock and have no wobble.
I have chosen the best midi keyboard and I am satisfied.
I love playing and composing music on a quality hammer-action keyboard. Therefore, when choosing a midi keyboard, I considered options based on Fatar keybed. The keyboard is made of a very high quality, all keys have the same elasticity when pressed and there is no horizontal backlash, as, for example, in the Korg keyboards. The faders have excellent rotational viscosity, which helps in smoother adjustments. Well, a huge advantage is in the hardware and software native support for NI libraries. I got a great tool and a great positive experience!
Simply the best except....
has everything except faders and with all that space available, I don't know why NI didn't organise it. Mark III?
