Korg microKEY Air 61
Based on 5 reviews
I got this after trying a lot of different mini keys, from Arturia and Akai to the cheaper ones. Because i travel a lot, it needs to fit in my car easily, but have enough keys to play key-switches (kontakt) and full range piano pieces. This piano is small, but still has enough keys for this. The pitch bend and mod wheel are physical too, which plays MUCH better than any touch strip. Try realistic guitar bends on the Arturia keyboards and then with this keyboard, it just feels much better for me, more fine control. Maybe the 49 keys was also enough, i got the biggest now. And for traveling with by plane i still use the Arturia Key Step, it fits in a cabin bag. Maybe if i carry this Korg keyboard by hand, they will accept it at the gate...ive seen guys carry guitars on board like its...
Arturia KeyLab MkII 61 Black
Based on 5 reviews
It was the missing ring of a small synth modules chain and I'm definitely happy of it. It features total customization with a huge amount of pads, keys, faders and encoders you can assign to every midi message you want. It's the only midi controller of its range with CV outputs (pitch, gate and 2 modulation, which I now use with my old MS10 expanding the keyboard and modulating the cutoff frequency with a pedal) CV in and 5 assignable pedals inputs (expression or switches). The keys are pretty light but very playable and of a good size. I didn't use it for controlling my DAWs yet (which is easy by using the right mask for the control buttons), but with the Arturia's Analog Lab software and all Arturia's virtual instruments it's matching perfectly, giving you a very quick control...
Icon iKeyboard 6X
Based on 3 reviews
The thing I wanted most in a controller keyboard was a good action, and I tried all of them- every one I could get my hands on- before buying this one. Also I needed 5-pin MIDI, which this has. For the money, the features are fantastic, though I'd have bought it for just the good action and MIDI. I don't think this is the last Icon keyboard I'll buy as they really seem to have thought about what people actually want and delivered it. Decide what features you want and what size, and they probably make what you want. Basically, I can't see any reason to buy a controller from anyone else!
Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2
Based on 26 reviews
Hey. I bought it half a year ago. S61 MK2 I use it just for training on the piano using Cubase. My first MIDI keyboard=) Looks very decent. high-quality plastic coated with matte black paint, the buttons on the control panel are very pleasant to the touch, and have a backlight that does not hit the eye. Work responsive. Knobs nice and very accurately work when setting any parameters or recording automation, as well as when you touch them from above(have sensors) - show other parameters. 2 display on which all clearly visible, you can configure the brightness, when setting to 100% they are very bright=) Komplete Kontrol the provides a huge amount of content to create music - personally, I really like "a Gentleman" and "Massive". Keys with aftertouch - the possibility...
Nektar Impact GX 61
Based on 28 reviews
I bought this product for making music at home for fun. And start to learn, how to play keyboard/piano. I tried some quality electronic keyboard before, but this is the first one i own. I bought it for the price. and 61 key should be more then enough for me. Pro: - Price - More feature that i will ever use. - Easy install and i can use it for violin sound, hammond organ etc. - Much more then a regular piano. - Relative small size(for me) Con.: - A little more detailed users guide would be better imo. Overall for the price to quality, it is a very great product. Wit some easy setup (velocity) etc. it can be a super companion during music making.
Novation 61SL MKIII
Based on 10 reviews
I can't really recommend it more. It's a very malleable tool in the hands of control freaks, and it works with you not against you. Pros: Absolutely seamless integration with Ableton Live 10. Plenty of freely configurable knobs, sliders, buttons and pads. Plethora of connections to hardware synths, vintage and new. Bundled with bunch of useful software. 5 crystal clear displays and LED key lights. Etc... Cons: Keybeds don't feel as well as the rest of the hardware controls, although the aftertouch is very well defined, the key action itself doesn't seem to be well tuned to get most of the dynamics of a piano, even after fiddling with the sensitivity presets, this is my only gripe I have with it, or maybe I'm too used to my previous keyboard and I need more time to get used to this...
M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61
Based on 11 reviews
With this 61 keys controller you get velocity sensitive semi-weighted keys, aftertouch, smart chord and scale mode, split zone and DAW integration with all major DAW software including FL Studio. On top of that you get tons of software and other goodies to get you started learning, producing and playing music. The build quality is good and everything is laid down nicely. The ergonomic distribution of sliders and buttons is spot on. The keys are nice and responsive. There are only two cons: One is that the sliders and buttons are not quite precise but they do work smoothly and in 0-127 range. The other is that the keys have no RGB lights for smart chords and scale feature. Its not a big deal but it would be nice to actually see them. Overall this is a quality build and budget friendly...
M-Audio Keystation 61 MK3
Based on 40 reviews
I decided to evaluate Keystation 61 for 3 days before writing a review. First impression: Very good looking, solid build. A small detail is that the finish of the black keys is not glossy but rather matt. Overall the keys look like weighted classical piano keys, but they don't feel like they are. At first I was dissapointed but then I realized that the price is, after all, at the mid to low range. HOWEVER they play very nice, perfect sensitivity! I had KeyRig 49 for 8 years and still have it, that's why i chosen m-audio again. So far, not dissapointed. I think these instruments fit perfectly in small non professional home setups like mine. I know what is a good quality piano and I know I don't need one to make electronic music. My honest rating is 5/5.
Arturia KeyLab Essential 61
Based on 31 reviews
Had my eye on this keyboard for my home studio after using a cheaper 25 midi keyboard for far too long. It's addition has had a huge impact of ease on my creative process and keeps me inspired. Pros: It's insanely lightweight. So if willing to invest in a quality, case portability won't be a back sore. If you're big into Arturia VSTs this works very smoothly for filter & ADSR adjustment, easy to go through presets. For Abelton users being able to have mild control of the session if you find yourself recording down anything helps flow without pauses and speeds the process up ever so slightly, though best designed for live use. Cons: Though the quality is exceptional for the price, I do feel the keys could be a bit more heavyweight. Comfortable to play but would the feel just...
Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A61
Based on 30 reviews
I bought this piano after comparing all 61 keys midi controllers, and this seems to be the one with the best integration in Studio One. Best: The good point are the keys and seamless integration with all Komplete products I have. It reminds me the feeling of a real piano, it's no so plasticky and looks like a premium unit. Another good point are all transportation buttons that it has, useful for DAW and also for the Komplete Kontrol plugin. I can control some basic features from Studio One which is what I was looking for. Also, I need no mapping at all, I love plug and play things without messing around with configuration files and so on :) Cons: It's quite heavy and bulky, so you need a lot of space for it. The clicking sound from the buttons is really loud, really. The little screen...
