I'll give it 5 stars

A great live vocal microphone for ultra clean and clear vocals. There is a special Neumann warmth added that it makes soft and sweet vocals even sweeter. It is a condenser microphone so you'll need 48 volts (phantom power) and be careful not to have a loud band behind you because it will end up in this very sensitive mic. I measure 4 fingers from my mouth to the mic for the perfect sound and try to stay at that distance consistantly during my live shows. All in all a great and very smooth sounding live microphone.

Best stage mic ever

I had the Shure beta 58A as my standard. I sing loud and my band is loud, we play led zeppelin black sabbath rainbow hendrix etc No problems with feedback on stage or studio. I read reviews suggesting careful use of the kms 205 for hard rock or loud bands, and i do not see any difficulty at all. I think that kms105 has better feedback rejection than the Shure beta. At least thus is my experience! Perfect for me, magical silky Neumann sounding for stage!

Worst room acoustic?

I bought silver after black.

Let me give you a piece of advice.

Buy silver

Why? Silver products don't have fingerprints.

Haha, of course, the sound is awesome.

Even if you record in an ancient Roman bathhouse, your voice will suck perfectly. It'll suck it in with fine detail and beautiful sound.

Worst room acoustic? But do you want the condenser sound?

The only answer is kms105.

One of the best microphones

This microphone is absolutely amazing.

It is hard to control for live situation, but if the audio engineer is good, he can make it just the perfect microphone for singers.

For many years I tried a lot of dynamic and condenser microphones , but when I heard KMS 105 I was so amazed about the sound that , since then I never used another microphone for live situations . It was love at first sight.

Sound : The best clarity , attack , body and power in every way possible.

Build : like a tank , perfect weight , a perfect shape and colour

Cons : none

Simply the best vocal mic in the market

I have an expensive PA and this brings out the best in it. It has given it a new lease of life and made me realise why I spent the money on it in the first place. If you usually use an SM58 for live, and were thinking of upgrading then look no further. Make sure you have phantom power on your desk though.

My favourite live mic

This is my favourite live mic. I've recently bought a DPA de:facto II but I use that mostly in the studio. The Neumann KMS105 is by far my favourite mic for live situations. Handling noise is minimal, and there's almost no "boom" or stage noise from the stand. Off axis sound is of very decent quality, so even with loud drums behind it doesn't contaminate the sound. The hypercardiod pattern is tight and feedback hasn't ever been an issue for me. But most of all, it just sounds and feels great to sing through. I've lost count of the number of customers who have complemented my vocal sound since I got this. Many think that it's a CD playing until they see me. If you have a decent PA, then do yourself a favour and get this mic. You will not regret it.

A new favourite

This has become my new go to vocal mic. Sounds great on almost anyone and works well in the studio or live. Top marks from me, especially when you consider the price.
