TOP SOLID DESK
THIS HAS BEEN THE PERFECT DESK FOR ME WITH ATHE ADD ON WINGS
IT HAS CLEAND UP ME STUDIO AND IS A PEFECT ADDITION TO MY WORK FLOW AND SETUP
Good but hard to build
It is a very good home recording desk, it's just hard to build. I suspect there's something wonky in the order the instructions are given, but either way some screws are very hard to reach when put in position, which leads to rechecking the tightness of the build a thousand times out of fear it'll collapse on you. Once built, it's very solid and with very wide work surfaces, so all good. I'd definitely recommend it for small home studios.
Superb desk
I considered a few studio desks and finally decided on this one for a small, spare room home studio. I read many reviews and watched a few of the YouTube videos about it before deciding.
First, let me say some of the negative comments about assembly are not without warrant. It is a bit fiddly to assemble, but I did it by myself in about 1 1/2 hours, but I took my time and was patient, having read the assembly instructions prior to receiving it. If you have put together flat pack furniture before, then this is not much different. But the instructions could be a little more precise about assembly, but I’ve seen worse.
Once assembled, I am very, very pleased with it. It has more than enough space for my needs, and I like having a keyboard/mouse drawer which frees up desktop space. My speaker monitors (Kali LP6s) are on separate stands, but if you feel the need to put smaller speakers on the top tier there should be adequate room along with a smaller computer monitor (22” or less).
It’s very sturdy and looks really nice in the rosewood. For this price I didn’t expect a real wood top, but it looks very nice indeed.
There is another one out there that looks nearly the same in the UK - made in the same factory perhaps, but I went with the On Stage one as I knew the brand from the USA where I’m from originally. Plus, you can add the 2u rack accessory to this desk, which I have done and put a rack shelf in it to hold my audio interface, hard drive and burner. The supporting arm for the top shelf can get in the way if you attempt to mount anything very deep in the top rack position. This wasn’t an issue for me with a rack shelf and just enough room to fit a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 in it snuggly.
I have no regrets purchasing this desk, and can highly recommend it. Just be sure to take your time assembling it, read through the instructions first, and having someone to help would not be a bad idea - but you could go it alone like I did with success.
