Good sound, goes mucky relatively soon.
Bought these strings to match my 40th aniv. Squire and they look great! The sound is pretty particular, not super bright but not muddy either. Doesnât sound exceptional with slap, but itâs a pretty good tone for the jazz fusion that I play. The strings start looking a bit old relatively quick because of gunk (moreso than normal rounds).
Quality strings!
Straight out of packet they feel and sound just like I’ve always imagined my bass should sound and feel. Couple of days in and they have settled, giving them a bit more quiet and mellow sound, but they are still very good. Hope they last longer than cheaper strings. Only thing I don’t like is the string ends in headstock being fugly orange colour.
Gold standard!
I didn't even like roundwounds, just wanted a gold string to make It look good with my gold hardware for some pictures but It became my main string choice as soon as It settled down. It's very responsive and sounds even across all fingerboard whether you play soft or dig in hard.
