Amp in a box
I got thos little thing to make my rig as versitile and protable as possible. I play bass as well and I built myself a pedalboard for both. So anyways, I stumbeled upon this little amp. I figured the amp costs arround 200⬠and I can always return it or sell it. I'm never getting rid of this thing. It packs quite a punch, it sounds like a classic Orange. I would like a bit more tonal control options, but the shape knob covers all the basics. Gain knob gives you a LOT of room to chape the dirty tone, and I love the dual volume controll. It has an 8-16 Ohm cab output so everywhere you go, it has you covered. It has a phones output with a cab simulator that counds allright. It is not the best but it gets the job done. It is enough for practicing. When you plug it into a cab that is where the amp shines. It also has the effects loop. The thing is packed with features, but I knocked a star off because like I said, I would love a bit more tonal shaping (Bass, Mid and Treble control). Overall, it is a powerfull little amp. Definitely recommended.
Loving it!
I love the sound, awesome quality, and dude, you get tubes on your pedalboard! I'm using it together with an IR loader, as the built-in cab sim leaves a lot to be desired. Sounds great with a 4x12 cabinet too! Highly recommended.
a great amp with flaws
the amp has nice features like a loop, and a headphone output, but then ruins itself with stuff like the incredibly sensitive volume and tone knob.
its nice for live gigs, but thanks to its volume knob sensitivity nearly unusable in a rehearsal environment .
Don’t count on the cabsim feature, it’s not sounding that good at all. Best paired with an IR cabsim (or a real cabinet of course). You can just take the Send output of this preamp and put into a Return port of another more powerful amp to bypass the preamp of the other amplifier.
Quite decent as bedroom/rehearsal amp with the Orange sound
The pedal amp is quite small and built like a tank. Looks like it can withstand a ton of abuse physically and my unit had no problems whatsoever out of the box. The sound through a cabin (I use it with a 1x12") is very nice and can get loud enough for rehearsing. There is a lot of gain on tap, making it ideal for hard rock/metal, with the rich, Orange sound.
Where the amp is lacking a bit is in features. It has two channels, however they share the same gain and tone settings, with the volume being the only differentiator - not really practical. It lacks an aux-in input (or Bluetooth) and the cabsim sound is really weak. My fix for this was to use the send of the amplifier to an IR loader and connect my headphones to the amp loader, bypassing the built-in cabsim. This improves the headphone playability dramatically and makes silent practice extremely pleasant. With the above being said, this is an extremely easy to use amplifier.
Overall, pair this amp with a cabin or an IR loader and you will be more than satisfied. Weak cabsim out of the box though.
Love it.
Bought as a way to use headphones with my pedalboard but still have that full on sound. Delighted. Works well with pedals and gives me everything I wanted.
A beast
I was looking for something more portable than my 20+ kg combo amp to bring with me to rehearsal spaces. I knew that it was loud for its size but I was surprised that it can keep up with a drummer in the same room! Added an overdrive in the front and an equalizer in the FX loop for more control. Only con is the single channel, but you can't complain at this price.
Perfect Headphone Amp
I recently went from having no neighbours to having neighbours move in to the vacant houses at either side of me, so obviously playing after certain hours was going to become an issue very quickly. I knew I needed to get something that would provide me with a good sound without needing to grab my pedals every time I felt like playing, and this thing delivers.
I've yet to try it through a cab, but straight into my headphones is everything I need. Perfect tone, easily shaped, great variety in the gain. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable and great headphone amp. Obviously this thing can do a lot more that what I am currently using it for, but for what I purchased it for, it is perfection.
Really opened up a lot of possibilities
First off I wanted seething 'Orange' for that saturated overdrive - it has that in buckets. The shape is really flexible for a one pot tone control though I can't imagine what sort of guitar would use it beyond 2 oclock. The gain is just brilliant. The two volumes is useful but lke others have said, two gains might be better.
One other key benefit was the effects loop as I'd accumulated a few pedals that would sit better in a look (chorus, reverb, delay) and it works a treat.
One major bonus is that I have a zoom g3xn and I've been running my guitar into that then into the loop return to use the terror stamp as a power amp. Brilliant fun playing with the different amp models. on the zoom.
Been using a 2x12 as the speaker and it is loud as hell but can be toned down for home use.
The cabsim is pretty good with headphones - nothing to complain about.
Brilliant value for money and it is staying on my board
The best amp for bedroom playing and more
I got this little jewel few weeks ago. I use it for home playing, i.e. bedroom playing. My first impression is very good. Well build, super light, good design and most importantly - super nice sound. It features fully-buffered FX Loop which is very nice for such a small amp.
The CabSim headphone output is also a nice feature, althought the sound you get through an actual cabinet is much better.
Overall - perhaps the best tiny amp for bedroom playing and small rehearsal rooms. If you're not a metal musician you could even use it for gigs at small venues.
I recommend it.
