Ordered after much research, always wanted an Ovation and this is the one for me. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition, absolutely stunning looks and sound after tuning up. The neck feels just like my Fender Strat, so no problem with finger shapes and getting the chords i'm used to and the action is very light. A beautiful guitar worth investing in, i'm sure i'll never part company with it, but being an 'Ovation' it should hold a decent resale value if I ever decide to upgrade to another model.

I chose the mid-depth round body after consulting pretty much all info available regarding this. I wanted to use a guitar for acoustic playing and also through amp. I didn't have the chance of testing any, but as far as I understood, the 48 series - super shallow body, is for electric (mainly). Color's great, good looking, nice inlays and overall finish. Easy to play. Find no issue with slippery back since it has a different finish (more adherent) where you rest it on your leg. I lowered the action (it was a little high for my preference and experience) by simply removing plastic pieces under the saddle. It is a little heavier, though. Has a totally different sound than I was used to (100-200 eur price range). It has a richer sound and I feel the need of playing with thicker picks than...

I mean it, it's great. For me it was a dream come true to finally own an Ovation, I wished to buy one for a few years. Played a lot of genres already with it, jazz, blues, country, folk and I recorded some really great versions of my own compositions. It's really adaptable with a clear and loud sound. It is also really comfortable to play. I believe its value is way above the price paid. And it looks great when you have a picture taken with it. In my last two concerts with it people only knew me as "the guy with that beautiful guitar". So careful, as it can draw the attention away from you. If you want to hear it in action, here's a recording I made with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oAfawLV7q4

It's been an ambition of mine for years to own an Ovation and finally the time was right and I bought the Celebrity CS24Standard Plus NB after falling in love with the Nutmeg finish. I'm pleased to say it's as beautiful in the flesh as in the pictures. When I first unpacked it and started to play I was a little disappointed with the sound but after 10 minutes or so of playing the tone opened up and having now had it for a couple of days the sound is magical and continues to improve. I haven't plugged it in yet so these comments apply to the acoustic sound. The strings are a little heavier gauge than I'm used to having played mainly electric recently but it doesn't take long to adjust. The tuner which is built into the pre-amp panel is easy to use and very useful for me as I'm...

This is my first ovation and I bought it to play live and recording my only gripe is it’s very hard to get used to holding it right the material Lyra chord is very slippery so you need a strap to play it I’d also recommend standing I changed the string to 11-52 elixir and I must say it’s sounds very nice plugged in off the bat no effects someone recommended putting anti slip shoe rubber shoe soles on the Lyra chord back to stop in slipping so I might try it but I purchased this guitar to plug in and it has a very nice pickup and preamp it’s sounds a lot better than the acoustasonic which I returned to get this and I’m very happy I did I also bought the case which is of good quality

As a casual player I had been planning on getting an Ovation for many years having borrowed my dads time and time again. This little gem that I just added to my collection is much much more than I had expected. The build quality is incredible, attention to detail outstanding and then there is the sound. This punches a great tone and whilst I had read that the smaller bodied would punch less than the bigger bodied counterparts that is most definitely not to be noticed. All in all this is a super guitar embracing the Ovation legacy in ever respect and for the £360 I paid this feels like a steel. I also went with the branded case for the same which makes for a great fit. One area I am still working on is the bigger body compared to the electric Ibanez I am used too, but this is just...

This is the third HB guitar I've bought and it's also the cheapest one as well. (I have the GS Travel-E Mahogany and the HBO-600TB's "brother", the classic nylon string HBO-850). Out of the box, looked well enough and even seemed to be in tune already (it was, relatively, but not to concert pitch). A quick retune and I gave it a go. The frets aren't dressed as nicely as the other HB were when they arrived. I will look to that later. The worst fault was the neck relief, although that was simply down to truss rod adjustment, which fixed it. Again, the other HBs didn't need attention. Some say that Harley Bentons can be a bit of "pot luck" whether you get a Mercedes or a Lada!! The two bad points I listed don't make it a bad guitar. With a little attention this...

Absolutely delighted with this guitar. It looks even more stunning in real life than in the photographs. It seems very well made and finished. The plugged in sound is superb and the gain control and 3 band equaliser make it easy to adjust the tone to individual preference. The built in tuner is a bonus. The super shallow bowl does compromise the depth of the unplugged tone although it is still reasonable. A purist acoustic player should maybe look elsewhere but for a giggable acoustic sound it is perfect. The action was on the high side but was easily lowered by removing one of the two under saddle shims (which is easy to do). I replaced the supplied strings with extra light gauge acoustic and it now rivals an electric guitar for playability. Overall this is a superb guitar for the money.

78 uk pounds for a guitar ? you've got to be kidding ok I didn't expect much tbh bad points first tuners were not screwed in correctly (it took 30 secs to do them up with a screw driver and a spanner) strings on the guitar were awful (5 mins to put elixirs on it) it needed a polish on the fret board that's it everything else was great and now my small gripes are gone it is as playable as my real ovation, possibly better I do however find the string spacing being slightly more than normal a little hard to get used to so this guitar will be for student use mainly in short a great buy you will not be disappointed at all it looks just lovely and sounds lovely too

I've tried lots of mid-cheap acoustic guitars before deciding to buy this one and I must say: I've played more expensive guitars that sounded and felt a lot worse than this model. The neck feels awesome, dimensions are perfect, sounds amazing (for the price of course). Beware: this guitar is not intended to be played standing! It's just impossible to play standing, you HAVE to sit down to play it because of the rounded back (just a tip for non Ovation fans). When arrived the set up was perfect, played it a lot before changing the strings. The built in amp is quiet good, not the best, but does its job. I do prefer the mic on this particular model tho. So, perfect for beginners who want a good sounding, well made and really good looking acoustic guitar (the koa top looks amazing!) or a...
