Meinl 16" Classics Custom Tr. China

This china here has a great sound: The edge sounds like a mix of a normal china, a crash and a stack (you know a two a splash on top of a china, or if it´s taller than a normal splash (12?) its a crash instead of the splash) But you can also ride this china (by the way: This is the reason why chinas in normal were build until somebody had the idea the play the china like a crash, and thats how you play it that days). If you manage to play that cymbal without losing your sticks in the holes, you will be rewarded by a great open sounding ride sound. The holes are well cutted, you don´t get any sharp edges anywhere with this cymbal
Paiste 2002 Classic China 16"

Well what can I say about Paiste cymbals. Pristine craftsmanship. I like the 2002 series very much. This 16" China has a nice thrashy tone. It rides very well and is cool for accents. It has a medium sustain and you can really lay into it to bring out that classic china sound. It's a sturdy cymbal as all 2002s are and I'm very pleased to have included this in my order. Bought this initially as an addition for my usual practice setup. But after playing it and finding the sound to be scarily close to exactly what I was looking for, I decided there's nothing I'd want to do without having this at my right hand side. Its clear, quick and has that unmistakable trashy China sound. Sounds fantastic for riding as well the single note. Definitely recommend this!!

I recently bought this to add a second china to my kit, and to my surprise it sounds amazing! It is surprisingly loud and shrill for the size, however it sounds great on recordings. The only downside I can think of about it is likely the fact that it does not seem the most durable. It picks up stick marks easily and the same with finger marks, although despite that I have not had any major issues with it bending or cracking, and I play mostly metal so I hit fairly hard. Another thing to mention is that it does not work well for stacks, as it has a really big bell, making it difficult to use unless you have access to a hi-hat stand. Either way I would most recommend this to anyone who needs a loud and trashy china for little money.

This is my third MEINL purchase and I am more than satisfied. The China cymbal is exactly what I was searching for . PERFECT for metal drumming and well, first day owning it , I used it so much and still the shape remains solid . No bends neither cracks :-) Go for Meinl if you are searching for good prices, good sound and good material.

This is very nice sounding china. But! Beware! This is as loud as a war machine. So you must cover your ears before you play! And another thing, you must hit this as hard as you can, only then it will give you the nice, full middle frequencies heard in the sound clips.
