Palmer Monicon Reviews
Palmer Monicon
A very useful thing in the studio. Qualitatively made thing, despite the low cost. I like this there tovere mono and mute button, convenient volume knob that goes smoothly. Pleases presence of 3,5 TRS connector
A well-built , sturdy, cool-looking monitor controller made of quality materials. Doesn't affect the sound quality at all. I highly recommend this product. XLR and jack inputs can be used simultaneously. The only thing I like less is that the volume adjustment is not linear (this can be seen on the images).
Great
This does exactly as described with a sturdy build quality. Unit is nice and compact in size with a stylish look making it appear out of it's price bracket. Would recommend this product to anyone, personally I'd like to see a version that would allow for alternate monitors but for controlling a single pair definitely worth the investment.
The product features a simple 1 knob, 2 button design, allowing you to mute the sound as well as collapse the mix into mono very handy for checking your tracks compatibility.
The build seems strong and the sound transparent something very important in an audio environment.
Great value
This does exactly what it says it does. I had it setup in 2 minutes and worked first time. Very handy device and extremly robust. Would reccommend it at triple the price.
Great quality
Really sturdy build, the volume knob got a great feel to it. The buttons are well placed. The unit got enough weight to stay put on the table, it wont get dragged down by the cables. And I havent noticed any loss in soundquality at all.
Im really pleased with this purchase, its simple to use and its looks great. And the fact that you dont need a powersupply makes it even better! The mono/stereo button was something i didnt know i needed, but it turns out i really did. Really great feature. Buy this if you need a simple way to control your monitor volume!
The little things in life...
I got this as a problem solver to make my recording life just a little more convenient. My studio layout is such that most of my gear including my mixing desk is off to the right and so I have to stretch over to turn the signal to my monitors up and down when I'm working at the computer. (I mix 'in the software' so I don't need the mixer in front of me for actual mixdowns.)
I considered several models but liked the look of the Monicon from the photos, and was also drawn by the fact that it had the mono switch as well as mute. And it had good reviews.
Glad I went for it. It's built like a tank - amazingly heavy for its size. The action of the knob is very smooth. The switches are great too. And because it's passive it's supremely quiet.
does what it says on the tin
Basic bit of kit but great sound quality and nice mono and mute buttons very handy
Great product
Bought this along with a lot of other stuff for my brother when he graduated. It works fantastic with his M-audio monitors! Just a great product for a great price, couldn't ask for more. Robust build that feels like it will hold for a long time. Not a whole lot of features but it does what it's supposed to.
