Ordered this for my new drum set, I do not regret. I tuned mine lower than usual and it produces a great fat sound, which I love since I normally play rock. The finish is absolutely astounding, it shines in the light and gives a "wow" look. I definitely rcommend this to beginners/intermediate drummers.

This drum is great, period! I use this for rehearsals, live performances, and recordings for things that go on Spotify. I play quiet acoustic styles, as well as hardcore and metal. This is now my go to kick drum for all of that. I actually got this drum as an intermediate step before investing in something more expensive. Then I got it, and: -the quality and solidity of the wood, hardware, knobs is just great -I still use the stock heads with the included small muffling pillow, and I see no reason to change that anytime soon, it sounds great -I've gotten compliments from recordings with this drum, .e.g "the kick sounds awesome" I play it with some some technically higher end gear, like a Pearl Decade Maple snare, and New Beat hi hats, and there is no noticeable difference in...

This is a great kick for a great price. I have a DW Collector's Kit and still use Stage custom for shows, and with good heads and cymbals it sounds just as good.
