Tama Rhythm Mate Standard -CCM

I'm an enthusiastic amateur and this kit was, therefore, at the perfect price point for me. For an entry-level kit, this is excellent quality and beautiful to play. The tone is great, even with the stock heads and all drums hold their tune well. The hardware is really solid and easy to adjust; I particularly like the tom mount which allows you to make tiny adjustments with ease. All supplied stands are good quality and will stand up to some serious punishment. The snare stand is the clamp variety and holds the snare really snugly. The drum throne is pretty basic but very comfortable. The Meinl BCS cymbal set that comes with the kit has lovely tone and sustain. I'm not sure how much they would cost on their own but I'd say that you're getting a real bargain having them included in the...

This is my first acoustic drum set so cannot compare to others, I have played a cheaper electronic drum set before. I have been wanting to play "real" drums for quite some time and decided to buy a set that was not the cheapest since I was pretty sure I'd be playing for a many years. This drum set looks and sounds great, I have now had it for more than a year and I could not be happier. The hardware is sturdy and I have never had to re-setup anything because of it loosening by itself. I (try) to play music ranging from classic rock to jazz and hip hop and this kit has given me any of the sounds that I want.

I bought this for my 10 years old who has been using a digital drum set for the last couple of years and for primer, grade 1 and grade 2 exams. As he starts to perform at a higher level and at school concerts, it’s important for him to be able to play on both. They are excellent quality (you can see it as you put it together) and can be adjusted in lots of different ways to suit your own style and position. They require a little bit of effort to put together (a few hours) but this was quite straightforward with the instruction booklet. Be aware that they are very loud compared to digital drums so be prepared. We have bought him a drummer headset/mufflers to protect his hearing - would recommend. Overall a very nice drum set, worth the extra money and should last for some time.

These are excellent drums for the price! The maple gives them warm and rich sound which no birch drums can match, in my view. I love playing them. Have had them for more than two years and they remain equally well tunable as they were at the beginning. I play fusion and jazz mostly, and this set is perfect for that. The only part of the set that is that could perhaps be better is the snare. It is good, but if you want a delicate sounding and versatile snare then you might want to upgrade it after a while. But that is also a matter of personal taste, so I don't see it as a particularly big deal.

Bought this set in December 2019 for our drummer. The main reason we picked this set was the nice mate finish which, by the way, looks way better in real life :) The sound was what I expected from Pearl: beautiful, robust, expressive; can play from jazz to metal core. The stock heads sound very good, they tune in easily. Now, time for the Only Con: Pearl lost quality of the hardware. There is a big difference in hardware between what they sold 5 years ago for the same price or even cheaper!!! The new hardware feels....unreliable and toy like. This is why I gave 4 stars for quality: the newer models are more expensive compared to the past and with cheaper hardware.

I'm really surprized of how good they sound not being any of the "high end" series...blew me away! The hardware is "high end", maybe not so much the Throne. The BD pedal & the Hi Hat are ok, but the cymbal stands, and the cymbals are very nice indeed...really high quality... As of 28/8/18 I have bought a new bd pedal and hi-hat, there was just no way of adjusting the pedals supplied with the kit. Needed to adjust the angle of the beater on the bd ped. and the spring tension of the hi-hat... I'm going to get a new throne too! Can't get it high enough for my use... As of September I bought other cymbals as the Paiste's were a bit too low end for my taste! As I said before the shell's are exceptional... Really, this set, at that price, is a no brainer!!!

That is, indeed, a very good deal. I guess most major drum-producers make sure that their entry level stuff is good - because if the new drummer likes the product he might buy something else from them in future, when he's ready to switch to another level of playing and sound. As far as this kit goes there are three things I don't see changing in near future - shells, snare and hardware; it's just good enough for quite some years of playing. You'll need to change heads after some time - but that's no surprise. As far as Sabians go, they sound, well, how to put it..., not that nicely. Again - that's ok, they are here so that you can hit something, not for recording a second "Master of Puppets". If anything they sound rather like "St. Anger". The snare is innocent...

Bought it for two pre-schoolers, as I didn't like the look (or reviews) of the Amazon/toy shop c. £30 - £50 plastic 'drum kits'. I've been playing drums since I was their age, so I didn't want to buy some plastic crap. This is a REAL kit. Wood shells, metal hoops, throwable snares and kinda tunable with a standard drum key (which is included). Setup is very straightforward if you are a drummer and still pretty easy if you have no experience at all. After it was set-up, "Santa" tested it. "He" decided it sounded pretty good, played well and will last a long time! The hi-hat pedal/clutch combo slips a little, if I'm going to nitpick, but for c.£90, it's a phenomental quality product. (Ear defenders advised for player and any family members)

This is my first drum kit as a beginner student and I am totally in love with it. It's more than valuable for an entry kit, it sounds great, it was easy for me to tune it (it was my first time doing it), plus it's very stable and looks really good. Important observation on the cymbal set: usually the cymbals included in complete drumsets are basically crappy toys, or that's how I expected them to be, but I was amazed by how they actually sound pretty nice for being part of a reasonably "cheap" set. They're more than enough. (Not that I was ever disappointed by Meinl). The only thing I would probably change soon is the throne, I find it too hard and it's not easily/quickly adjustable. I chose the sparkly, glitter silver finish and it looks amazing, I can't wait to bring it...

Bought it as a present for my 3-year old nephew, who was playing "drums" all over the house. Even though he is still too young to play using the pedals, the set is perfect for learning the basics or simply having fun hitting the drums along the favourite song. Those LowNoiz cymbals can still make a lot of noise, so maybe some ear protection is recommended. PROS: good quality and sound, basic setup CONS: assembly instructions not included in the package (download the ones at the bottom of the product page - could be more detailed), pedals are a bit difficult to use by smaller kids
