Purpose of this snare drum is being the second on my setup. But man; this is my main snare now. Build quality amazing, looking perfect with "black wax" finish. And the mag throw-off is perfect. Such a perfect quality product with amazing price. Pros: - amazing tone for 12" (even medium tuning) - gorgeous looking plus matching almost every color or finish - DW mag throw-off - stock heads are very durable - amazingly sensitive Cons: - don't liked the snares, they feel cheap - not comfortable with low tuning

the new “Warbird” is an optimized version of the original Black Panther model, with a unique 12″ diameter and a Walnut/Maple hybrid shell. This updated version still has a sharp and aggressive attack, with an amazing bite and projection (rarely heard a wood snare having this amount of projection compared to metal snares, it perfectly complements my Pearl Matt Halpern Brass snare in terms of projection). Honestly, this snare has no business being as good as it is for what they're charging for it. Like I said in the title: This. Thing. CRACKS. Granted, you have to put in a little time tuning it up and situating the heads (or replacing them), but once you've got it dialed in, get ready to pick your jaw up off the floor. I started out by putting this up on my practice kit to sort of break it in, but I was immediately caught by how powerful the rimshots rang out. They genuinely weren't joking by calling this thing "mighty".
