Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold are a great set of strings and I'd highly recommend their G and D in particular for the warm and lush sound.

Larsen virtuoso strings were unknown to me until I took a chance and ordered this D string to try out. Wow I am impressed. The string is quite thin and flexible. It feels nice under my fingers. The tone is nice. On plucking the open string, you can hear that it rings for a long time and with great sonority. However, the difference with many other strings is most obvious when playing higher up on the fingerboard. Somehow Larsen has managed to make a string that makes position play easier. i love that. Will order a full set of these strings.

I have used this on a powerful and bright violin, but without much depth, perhaps for the violin it wasn’t the best choice. Full and big sound, not an amazing range of complexity. I will however be trying it on another violin soon, which is a lot darker yet sometimes lacks resonance and brilliance, and will update the review soon.
