portable and versatile audio interface
The Presonus AudioBox iTwo is a portable and versatile audio interface that offers high-quality sound and exceptional performance. With its two combo inputs, compatibility with Mac, Windows, and iOS devices, and included software bundle, it is an excellent choice for musicians, producers, and podcasters who want a reliable and easy-to-use tool for capturing their recordings.
Great audio interface!
Portable, lightweight. Great for plug and play!
Great for Chromebooks
My first ever interface but I'm finding it very easy to use. I opted for this since it's compatible with Chromebooks. Highly recommended
Avoid if using to record with microphone.
To get any level of audio from microphone requires input gain to be set near max at 9 or 10 (out of 10). Anything lower picks up very little sound and recording at that level of gain input introduces noise to the recording. This issue is highlighted multiple times in the reviews on the Amazon page also. Renders the device unusable for the purpose I bought it for.
Connecting the interface to an iPad pro requires using the opposite ports stated in the instructions.
Spend your money on some other interface because this is useless for recording quality audio. I also had problems using the bundled software. Very disappointed with it.
Easy iPad/iPhone guitar connect.
I use it for ios devices with vst plug-ins. Plug and play, nothing is easier. There are two symmetrical outputs for Studio monitors and a headphone output with a large Jack. Convenient large level control.
good for the price
this is a good audio interface, you will get some nice recordings with it, don't expect the quality to be there, go to a proper studio for that
Very simple and useful
really easy to use in conjunction with the included Studio Artist software.
perfect
I use this product 3 years and is working perfect
Good option for the price
For the price it can be a great choice but only in home studios for demo or soft tracking recordings. It has 2 separate mic preamps which are really good. It also has a 48V phantom power supply which is a must have feature in today's studios. The choice was influenced by the Mix knob by which the balance between the signal coming in the device and the signal coming back from the DAW can be set. It is a really good idea, this makes things easier, instead of tweaking in the DAW, You can handle this by one easy movement. The metal house raises its value a bit.
A huge and really disappointing issue is the headphone output level. Cranking the knob fully up can still be insufficient when recording a bit louder instrument in the room. It is (or should be) sadly a very important issue and sometimes it blows the joy away of a recording session. Honestly, I had thoughts of sending it back.
Apart from this, the device is good in the price range, however, I would be curious how other products work in this price range (e.g. a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2).
Excellent quality mobile stereo audio interface with a little glitch
When you want a simple audio interface that can be used to create pro class mono/stereo recording, with portability as a prime focus, this is the one. As a bonus it is also very reasonably priced!
Thechnically it is almost superb, the preamps are absolutely fantastic and of top notch pro quality, the playback D/A stage is also very good and transparent.
But it also has little design or production glitsch: the preamp pots appear to produce a big gain difference at a point when they are almost turned up all the way. This way the last gain change is not very refined and can bring some trouble when a high gain is needed. I estimate that there is a sudden 10 dB gain difference at some point.
This was a bit disappointing to find out. I expected some more perfection of PreSonus.
Then the iOS app sofware is having some annoying bugs and is missing some important features. But that is all fixable...
This is unfortunately not the case with the gain pots, that is how it is.
But regarding the portability and connections: Great!
I use a powerbank of 11000 mAh to power the interface and that goes on for hours and hours, so the interface must be very power economic.
It can also be used as a simple standalone headphone amplifier, or a mic/instrument preamplifier.
So in all a very versatile unit and despite the gain pot problem a very good main interface in a simple audio setup with outstanding dual channel mobile recording features.
