Very good for the money
An SG type alternative from PRS. It has a vintage feel and sounds pretty good considering the price. It is also a pretty light guitar. Totally satisfied with the purchase
I was looking for an SG...,
and whilst this isn't an SG, I think it's as close as you are going to get in a PRS.
To be entirely honest, I was a bit dubious because I have had other PRS SE guitars and was fairly underwhelmed. But I got an Epiphone SG but that had a tone control that was of the on/off variety - so it went back. I was running out of sub-1000€ options so I took a punt on this.
Out of the box it was set up like a dream. Action a touch high but nothing that was beyond a simple adjustment. But seems well cut, fret work is impeccable. People complain about the pickups, but this is the first guitar with humbuckers that I've owned for many years, and they are the sort of fairly low output pickups that I like - warm and clear but able to drive an amp given the chance.
All in all I think this is a superb guitar. It has the PRS quality without all the curly maple nonsense that has meant that I have largely avoided PRSs.
