I saw this trick is used by the guitar player of Khurangbin, in his rig rundown video he explains this and I wanted to give it a try. Just ordered this single 0.10 and the true vintage set flatwound set from Pyramid Gold, used this as the 1st, and the true vintage set as the following, just throw of the 0.056 6th (lower E) string. My only doubt was how would this one and true vintage set pair, and if there would be any tonal differences, but as soon as I strunged my guitar up all my doubts vanished away. they pair perfectly.
