I tried this with my Jazz-Tele. Sounds about the same with the factory ones (Fender electric 009), maybe a little bit more dull.

Black painting is really weak - with 1.5-2 mm picks it started to fell off strings after about couple of hours of medium agressive playing.

In the end of a day I have to clean my guitar from black-paint-dust. And to change strings
