I ordered these to replace the stock strings when I bought a new banjo (my first!). Being new to the world of banjo I wasn't totally sure so picked these out and have been very impressed with how they sound. The tone of my banjo has been vastly improved with the fitting of these strings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these strings if you're in the market for some good quality replacements. Easy to fit and tune up, I've had no problems with these strings, they're really good quality and they sound great. For the price, you really can't go wrong.

I've had these strings on my banjo for far too long. It's been roughly 10 years...! I know I should change them, but these are sounding decent enough that I feel a bit hesitant to swap them out. Also, there's something surprisingly sexy about an old well-loved banjo with some old old strings.. If I try to recall how they first sounded when i put them on, I think I recall them being a bit more treble-y than I had anticipated. A little thin-sounding perhaps, but a great feeling of clarity nonetheless. Over time though, they changed slightly - the sort of thin sound mellowed and yet picked up a slight harshness (perhaps they're oxidizing slightly and are vibrating differently) that is quite wonderful. They feel rough under my fingers. I know as soon as I change them I'll be slapping...
Pyramid Ukulele Banjo String Set 35
Based on 1 reviews
Pyramid nylon ukulele strings always seem thicker than others I use, but maybe that's because I generally prefer lighter-weight string. These strings sound good and loud though, which is what banjo ukes are all about after all! The packets are clearly labelled a', d', fis' and h' so there's no confusion over which string is which, and they are a generous (35cm) length - way more than enough for my soprano scale banjo ukulele. I've only just fitted these so can't say how long they will last; given how thick they are I guess quite a while. They seem to be bedding in quite quickly. If I remember to, I'll come back and report on how they go in the long term.
Pyramid Banjo 6-string Loop End
Based on 8 reviews
I bought the gretsch guitar banjo a while ago and it came with some really heavy strings so I was looking for some lighter loop-end banjo strings and found these. The sound and build quality of these strings if really good and for the price they sell they are a bargain. The strings are silverwound so they do get dark quite quickly but as far as I'm concerned it seems to be only cosmetic. The sound doesn't get dark at all. So these strings seem to keep their tone and especially the high end really well. The loop end is well made and it doesnt have sharp and pointy ends some loop end strings seem to have. Really good and inexpensive strings for guitar banjo with loop ends.

They perhaps don't last quite as long as some other brands that are much more expensive but considering you can buy about 5 packs of these for the same price you're better off sticking with these ! Unless you're recording or touring I would say these are perfectly adequate for practice/home use. The sound is perfectly acceptable and most would not notice the difference between these are more expensive strings. Basically, considering the cost they're amazing. Some brands offer 1 string for this price !

I bought these strings to replace my steel ones because I wanted to make my banjo more silent. I figured nylon strings would sound softer by themselves, and also allow me to play with bare fingers (without fingerpicks). My main goal was to have an instrument I could practice in my apartment without disturbing my family or my neighbours, the sound quality was not a big concern. Still, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that even these nylon strings delivered the usual crisp, high-heavy sound as one would expect from the banjo. They felt very comfortable when played without fingerpicks and gave a better response to the picking dynamics than the steel ones. As there are no loop ends on the strings, the mounting wasn't very straightforward. The internet suggests tying tiny nooses...

Wasn't sure what to expect at this price but was pleasantly surprised. This Banjo sounds great and the action as received was very playable. The finish on the instrument is really quite good although it is too early to say much about durability. Purchased as a gift for a younger person it should be noted that the banjo does have some weight to it so under 10s might struggle. The strap is also tricky compared to a guitar as the neck wants to fall down... I imagine it's the same with most banjos. The case that came with the bundle was also very sturdy. My only regret is it is rather heavy, a good soft case may be a better option.
