This is my very first brand new violin. I have always had school, antique and second hand violins and although I have never had a problem with these I wanted something bold, bright and reliable for traditional folk fiddle playing. Older instruments do have their good points but tend to be somewhat quieter (even with brighter strings) and more temperamental with changes in the weather.

This fiddle fits the bill perfectly. It speaks well, with a clear bold but smooth tone and feels comfortable and easy to play. Despite the variable humidity and fluctuating winter temperatures in the last 2 weeks here in Portugal this instrument has kept its tuning from the first day. I was a little doubtful about the varnish and accessories which for me are a little flashier than I am used to but the important thing for me was the sound ( I had researched examples for this maker) and this one delivers!
