Beautiful lap-steel with nice sound.

You can't go wrong with this.

Surprisingly good, especially for the price

This is my second lap steel and I love everything about it. Sound is excellent and it is very comfortable to play. Looks great too which is not common with lap steels. Basic set of config options (2) regarding tone and volume but that's all I need. Great instrument.

It is what it is...

...in that this is a budget lap steel. Good for a beginner, decent sound, decent quality, but you will notice that the fit and finish of the instrument is a little bit shabby in places. Other than that, you get what you pay for and I don't mean that in a bad way!

Recording King RG-32-SN

This is a great Lap steel for beginners, with a suprisingly good tone. I've played hawaiian music on it and used it as accompaniment in country music and it sounds great. It looks good too with the beatiful sunburst lacquer and classic lap steel look. The volume and tone pot could be a bit better, because it's a huge difference between 8 and 10 and almost no difference between 1 and 7 on the volume pot. On the tone pot it's no difference between 2 and 10 but a huge difference between 0 and 1. Still it is a very good lap steel for this price, and i highly recommend it as a beginner instrument or as a side instrument for someone who wants to try something different!

Recording KING!!!!!

The Recording King RG-32 is a great starting point for anyone looking to try a lap steel for very little outlay. It’s almost as cheap as building a home-made “Diddly bow”, only this is a very serious product. Recording King is a company steeped in Down-South 1930s American Musical history now outsourcing some products to the Far East but not to it’s detriment. The Guitar is a beautiful Sunburst finish with a white Pearloid neck and the Body is Mahogany which helps the sound of the well voiced P90 Bridge pickup. The String through body is another great addition for tuning stability and the guitar actually arrived fully in tune which was unbelievable. The sound is very clear and you could lose hours just toying with this through an amp. This is a great instrument for someone looking to play deep somber slides on a porch in a rocking chair, Hawaiian/country style backing or crazy Ethereal, otherworldly sounds through effects units with their recording projects. The guitar is very well finished, great quality and extremely affordable. Again China comes to the fore with a brilliant product costing very little.
