Remo 20" Fiberskyn 3 Medium (FA)

Great resonant head for old-school sound

I use this 20" Remo FA head on the front of the bass drum (resonant head) when I'm playing in jazz bands. Together with an Evans EMAD on the batter side, and no internal muffling, it gives me a warm BD sound with an old-school flavour. Note that it won't give you that wet, slappy sound...it's more of a rounded, dark & middly boink. Also, I much prefer it as a resonant head rather than as the batter.

Sweet sound

Very durable, nice sound. You can tune in whatever tuning you like, it will sound very good. In higher pitch it sounds melodic, suitable for jazz, in lower pitch it sounds full and warm.

I found my new favourite front head!

Remo 20" Fiberskyn Medium (Ambassador) is a must have head if you want to get maximum tone out of your 16-20" bass drum. Although some people like to use two of them on their bass drums, I use Coated Ambassador as the batter head and Fyberskyn on front.

Bought this drum head as an experiment and I was pleasantly surprised with a sound of my kick after installing this skin! A lot of warmth and very controlled overtones. Great head for using on a bop kits (highly tuned bass drum with no muffling inside).

All in all this is really awesome drum head with great look and even better sound quality. Definitely would recommend to every jazz drummer out there

Jazzy yet not perfect

This head had the look I wanted... and I thought the sound. I have been pleased with fibreskyns on my toms, giving me a vintage sound. However, do me as a reso head it sounded plasticy. I changed back to a regular coated after some time however, it still gives a satisfactory sound.
